a fire blade is not a melee character its one of theses you were thinking of the character with fusion blades but thats enclave only a fire blade is a vetren who forgoes being a battle suit pilot and prefers leading the fire wariors in shooting
How about leave the Tau loer to me? Tau Fireblades are Veterans - Shas'Ui and up which focus on melee with the Bonding Knife / Short Sword. They still run around with a rifle but most of the time lead a squad into melee. They are very heroic but usually don't live long / survive much, but they are an inspiration to all Tau which makes them fight much much better. They are not truly HQ units (yes they are in TT, but not in lore) they are simple Veterans that focus on Sword-Fighting. Most of the time though they rather act as Bodyguards of Etherreals or Commanders, though they sometimes also may lead Fire Warrior Squads. And as Watchman said - They ain't get a battlesuit. It's Fireblade or Battlesuit in your career as fire-warrior xD Despite their knowledge with the sword they pretty much suck still against other species. They are somewhat equivalent to a Commissar with a Chainsword I would say. EDIT: Of course Fireblades are allowed - but don't expect to run around as Pathfinder or anything. It's like being an Exarch - You will be only this, nothing else.
So my earth caste has to go to this ethereal briefing thing too right? As the fire warrior basically said "be there or we beat the shit out of you for not being there"
As described in the first post - the meeting is for all Castes where you get da propah briefing and get told what this whole thing is about ^^
