Why so many ppl can't grasp that EC has always been designed as an infantry oriented game, as simple as that?
Tanks are supposed to be just an addition not an equal element to infantry. In such a light, limiting the number of them to make them rare by giving high req costs and some kind of unlocks is fully justified.

If tanks were spawned as easily as infantry the tank zergs would be simply inevitable as sun in the desert.
Really guys, if somebody is such an avid tank player go play WoT but don't try to turn EC into WoT, cos it's not (what a rhyme :D).

How do any of my suggestions turn EC into WoT? I have been vehemently against over-complicating tank mechanics 'for realism', which my entire miscellaneous was targeted at. I also explained why I think tank zergs form and how best to deal with them (and that infantry will ALWAYS outnumber tanks). I don't want tanks to be the primary focus, but I do want them to be viable for roles other that 'taxi' or 'exp bag'. I don't see why the devs should bother even putting them into the game if that's what you want them to be, the time they save could be used to apply some extra polish to the infantry.

  5. since when did landraiders become super heavy's?

Same time TT became a vidya game. If the predator is the main battle tank for the astartes, a vehicle nearly twice its weight and twice the firepower can fairly easily be described as super-heavy.

well technically there is a niche between battle tank and super heavy tank...its called a heavy tank,

I maintain that the Rhino is an APC equivilant, that the Predator is a Rhino with a turrent that makes it a AFV equivalant and that the Land Raider is a tank,

so as far as I'm concerned EC has no tanks in its roster at this time

Do we need to get this technical about classifications?
The predator is described by the Lexicanum as a battle tank, it is treated like a battle tank in DoW and (by the looks of things) it's going to be treated as a battle tank in EC, calling it an AFV simply isn't fitting.
I also consider the land raider a super heavy because of it's sheer size, it's as long as a maus and nearly twice as wide and if it was given realistic armour thickness (not this 95mm bollocks) it'd weight as much as one as well.
  9. Tarl68 TARL68 Arkhona Vanguard

no we dont have to be this technical...but as ex-military I just find it hard to refer to the predator as a "tank"
  10. Trovanus Abize Arkhona Vanguard

Understandable, but it's going to be like the 'calling a magazine a clip' sorta issues. It's a nitpick that most players aren't going to care about but drives those who know better up the wall. If it is going to treated like a battle tank, it is going to have to act like one, even if it isn't what it is.
