Theres that one map with a train bridge connecting 2 ravines with a river below, oh they joy i had jumping down with my IS on top of people down in the river. The messages of sheer surprise and terror followed by a good round of laughs from both sides as i goomba stomped them was really fun.
I really hope they can get it right with the hover vehicles, because in PS2 it was impossible to kill enemy infantry with the magrider and the slightest touch will kill your allies. Servitors ofc.
I say yes to roadkill and sandwich kills (squishing), but roadkills *should* need a minimum speed to register. After all, unless you trip or get your foot caught in the tread, a vehicle (even a tank) that's just crawling forward at a snail's pace is just going to nudge you forward rather than run over you. What kills you is the momentum of a high-speed impact, followed by you getting knocked down in front of the tires/treads or getting your face sheared off by the rapidly moving undercarriage if there's not enough clearance for you to fit under there. Though obviously getting slowly pressed between an immovable object and an unstoppable force (relatively speaking) is in a category on its own. TL;DR: Vehicles don't have electric death fields around their hulls, they either need to squish you against something or hit you at fairly high speed to kill you. This also means we'd be able to move safely through crowds of friendlies by moving slowly.
I just got such a sweet mental image of running down astartes with a Falcon. Serpent shields! They are hell of effective even at long range, I can only imagine what a Wave Serpent can do if someone crashes on to their shields. EDIT: And, Wave Serpents aint that slow either!
I want tanks bursting through walls like the kool-aid man and for players to freak out and scramble and reorganize when one does. It'd also be cool to be run over.
