I've just been one shot by this weapon. I couldn't react, I had no idea where the shot came from and it felt rather strong. The most annoying thing is that it didn't kill one of my boys. It killed my tankiest nob. The nob I made to max health to see if it was viable with Eavy Armour and Slugga's Mega Gob. He has 271 health, 340 armour and 160 toughness. I had to see what had felled my character so looked on my Eldar lad to find out what it was - the red colouration made it easy. Anyway my question is what do you think of this weapon? I thought star shot was rubbish, is it decent now or was the shot a fluke?
Torrent Reaper Launcher is just a reskin of the Master Crafted Reaper Launcher, but buyable with RTC. Starshot is an Anti Tank setup. Deals 2000 damage. The AoE is very tiny so you might have taken a direct hit. It's like having your Nob shot at by a Lascannon. Dead. It's... a decent weapon. Although now it fires slower than a Lascanon. Granted it can guide its missiles and hit without the laser warning, but it's .... not that good of a weapon. At least not at anti tank. Let's not talk about the alternative firemod... starswarm (which is bugged btw)
Starshot is semi garbage/ok now, 3 second charge with a 2 or 3 second cooldown with bright light and travel time, the other half of the weapon starswarm has a small chance to 2 shot kill point blank half the time if the shot even registers that is. It got another nerf bat this patch so it's AV got gutted, due to its cooldown. Starshot can 1 shot anyone if it lands but it has enough downsides like long charge and cooldown plus travel time, I mostly use it as a vet bopper/ quad gun killer as I just cant kill tanks with it anymore as they drive away. Overall it a situational weapon these days unless you get a good map to play sniper, I find the Shuriken Cannon the only decent weapon on the Reaper these days and even that is a weaker heavy boltor. The torrent launcher is just an RTC skinned Master Crafted Reaper Launcher.
Thanks for reply guys, just curious really. The shot in question felt like a total fluke (I was walking past someone else who was actually being aimed at I reckon). Wait is Starshot not the same weapon as the Torrent? Because it was definitely the torrent that killed me (unless there's a red version of the starshot?). I looked at the Torrent info from the weapon screen and it says "Starshot damage". Either way, the AV mode works very well if it's aimed at personnel. If someone mastered it it would be deadly.
Was it a single tiny massive shot or a series of arced cumsplashes? The second one means it's a tempest, which also has a red colouration
Well I didn't see anything dude. I was runnin' around one minute, next I was doing a cartwheel across the map. I THINK it was one shot. Is the Tempest capable of one shotting the tankiest vet in the game [E] with multiple cum splashes?
Nah it was here today gone the next milisecond so I'm 99% certain it was a one-shot. I didn't notice multiple shots - best I can describe it was as if I had been sniped.
starshot is the AV firing mode of the reaper launcher (and torrent RTC version) as opposed to starswarm which fire 6 missiles.
