8 gigs and 660? Shit, add cost of new PC to the cost of the game. Any one with a PC made before 2014 won't be able to play this. The Main reason I won't buy a Founder Pack is because I only have 4gig of ram and don't feel like investing money into a game just to find out I can't play it.
The game comes out in a year, the tech moves so fast that 8 gigs will be the basic norm by then. It already is in many places. And the prices of that hardware will plummet decently in a year.
My PC is from 2012 and I'm above the minimum requirements... also they mention that the minimum requirements are that high* because the game is supposed to be really playable with that hardware. * the game will release on 2016, mid tier hardware from 2012 is not really high requirements.
If anything, this game will be hogging your CPU due to the amount of players and vehicles and projectiles. I can run Shadow of Mordor on a combo of high-ultra (I ve only set the texture to high) and I have a constant 60 FPS with a GTX 660. I dont think EC will be that advanced graphically as to need a GTX 780 TI or a GTX 9xx for acceptable performance. If the game proves to be unplayable on a 2012 PC, then thats poor optimisation and they should look into the code of the engine and optimise the use of resources.
