I think if Sh used the jump to gain altitude then was able to free glide around while free aiming many of their guns would be become much more useful as is. Just the very fact that enemies would have to split focus between up and down would be a huge benefit to your faction. I dunno maybe that is a thing and I just can't do it. All I seem to be able to do is pull off some kind of weird super mario hop when I try to glide.
I'm still struggling to get to grips with it, but I've seen some highly skilled Hawks just devastate Heavy Weapons positions. I think the main problem with Hawks is, unlike with Jump Packs, they don't seem to be able to increase altitude whilst in flight.

I land against the nearest wall and just spring higher but the ceiling cap is constantly teleporting me down or counting me as out of bounds with the amazingly long 4 seconds to death message. The only prob is because it springs you away from the wall you have to do a full rotation to get back.
Yeah, that works to a degree, but I'm fairly sure I'm right in saying with a Jump Pack, you just jump again in mid-air and it boosts you back up again. That's considerably more convenient.
