For starters, this will be a TPS not a FPS. Second, if matches are only 15v15 and PvE stuff only 4 or 5 players, that isn't very MASSIVEMultiplayerOnline If your computer is low end, that unfortunately means you're probably going to need to upgrade it/get a new one if you want to play this game at its best, I.E. maximum graphics, 32v32, 64v64, whatevervwhatever. Maybe it is just me but I figured a PC Gamer would have at least a decent PC Gaming computer.
Well I think the devs should start small but get bigger if successful, it is still not certain the client base for this game and if the game customer population would sustain itself... it is too ambitious to presume you would get more than 30 people in one instanced map right now, no MMO that I know has done it yet so it is just a ideal.
The projections for their client base is actually quite high. If you have thousands of people playing, getting more than 30 in a single instance will not be hard at all. Especially if you consider how much territory/how many matches won't be available to play as they'll be locked behind the front line of your/enemy territory, which could potentially leave a large number of players unable to even play due to all available matches being filled.
40k is massive and stretches across a huge age range. It will easily get the player base, especially the closet 40k enthusiasts like me.
People still have lives, even when i see people play huge MMOs like World of Warcraft or Neverwinter, it is quite a task to get 30 people into one instance.. so yeah even friends and family got to work, so unless this game is pegi 12 to rope in kids and adults it is obvious smaller gaming populations would suffice to start game launch population testing first, it is basic marketing strategy you know.
That depends on what time you are trying to play the game and I am sure their client projections take into account the fact that people will not be playing 24/7. They are going to start out small during Founder's Access and work their way up using both that data, more data from Founder's Beta and their sales projections, which are sure to be updated as time goes on.
PvE has been stated during a livestream to be for a party, I figure the question asker means party=squad that would be 2-10 players, 10 being a full squad. Er perhaps a better wording would be appropriate. "You don't need to be in a party. You're gonna die but good luck. *everyone laughs*" - BrentEllison Lead Designer & Protector) in Twitch Episode Summaries, Warp Echoes Episode #8, page 3 post #25, question 10 (@44:33-45:33). As a frequent lone wolf this does not bode well for me. But I am brave AND foolish! I shall test extensively and report my tragedies er I mean tests. Yes. From that player count, in some time after launch I can see natural expansion being Raid-type engagements with more players and more enemies. But given the focus to PvP raid mechanics seen in other games could be unlikely. Since when do kids and parents follow PEGI ratings? Well, Executions are a thing which even with disabling blood in options there is still the act of impaling someone with your heavy bolter er I mean chainsword lol (a poke of fun at some livestream gameplay demonstrations).
It's the equivalent but much more involved and elaborated upon feeling of the raising of a flag over enemy territory. It enhances the sense of achievement of 'raising that flag' and subsequently makes having that flag torn down much more of a damaging blow. It all depends how much you are interested in being invested in a deeply developed and immersive game, or whether you just want a base experience that you can have in any 10 a penny game.
I hope we also have a tug of war style mode that changes the frontline as one side advances or gets pushed back.
All i pictured when I read your line was this, If not one of the best Intros ever made. Lol Imagine that cinematic ( but purdier lookin) at the end of the matches. Expect you know it would be made it fit the winning factions
