No one did, but your second statement makes it a moot point.

I'm not entirely sure what you're arguing against here Zaeryn, if not just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Are you saying that the team shouldn't attempt to make this, visually and effectively, the most captivating and nuanced experience as possible?

Are you saying that attempts at isolated realism and canon accuracy should be disregarded?

Are you saying that you would be fine with a shoddy aesthetic display?

Articulate the point of your argument for us.

If I only see that particular base on the occasion the enemy holds it and I'm assault it or my faction holds it and the enemy is assaulting it, why should I give a shit about gradual-unseen-over-time changes vs poof-it-changed, as I'm not getting to witness the change either way?

I don't think we understand each other. The change will be very slow, but you will know when you attack/defend fortress, how long is held by this faction.
    Example:
You will attack on fortress that is held by CSM only 1 day. You see some spikes and some runes inscribed upon walls.
You will attack another fortress that is held by CSM 1 week. You will see mutation on walls, banners of the legions, mutilated corpses etc.

This changes can be instant changes but will be more obvious over time. The changes can be done, when you claim the fortress, after 1 day, after 1 week, after 2 weeks etc. It don't need to have some animation, but I want to see how long faction is holding this fortress only by looking at it.

interesting idea. Not bad idea cos then you know your getting to the heart of the territory. The only problem could be that it means that the developers have to rebuild or redesign every outpost etc 4 times to suit every faction if they hold it. Interesting idea would be great to apply but may be difficult for the developers

That is exactly the point I was making. If I can't see the gradual animation change then why would I care if there's a gradual animation change. It may as well be, "Upgrade time. Poof. It's upgraded. Done. What do you think?"

I apologize if I did not stupid my point enough for it to clearly be understood.
  7. Serg Serg First Blood!

Yes this is exactly how I see this could work.

Nice suggestion for terrain change, but please remember not everyone has good graphic card and PCs. We need graphic options in menus to foster lower level game play for people with minimum specifications. So basically if custom PVE options exist, a lot of problems can be solved for PVE fans of the game because we can adjust the level of difficulty and graphic usage if all aspects of a PVE match can be customised.

Important note, make PVE match customisable yet some high reward PVE random encounters allow for bigger survival team play. This is what my friends and family have come to realise after talking about the old MMO concepts that exist in the market currently.

I still reckon 4-5 people for small customisable PVE encounters is ideal. Big PVE should be like a PVP match of 12 to 15 people with reasonable quest like objectives to be approached whilst maintaining a wave after wave of PVE opponents effect.

People are skeptical of the super open world concept with supposedly 100+ people in one PVE or PVP instanced map. The suggestion from people I know is to experiment with 12 to 15 maximum encounters from 1 faction, we do not believe the devs can sustain 100 people battle maps. Experiment small and try to build on that devs, no gamer I know has tried 100 plus people MMO and expect optimum performance from current recommended machine specifications. Think expanding long term game play, but start small. 15 vs 15 PVE or PVP is strongly recommended. Try not to get too ambitious and see how it goes. My friends and family doubt founders access would give a true picture of release game play and player experience, look at Neverwinter... everyone I know now does not touch the game due to bad ambitious concept game. MMOs usually have only 2 to 3 years following unless new content is developed successfully.

So try not to get too many people involved in one instance for new and give customisable PVE options. Even PVP needs serious thinking and regulation to maintain the fun factor for all players involved playing rationally and properly according to their intuition.

This is the challenge my friends and family feel the devs should live up to, if not this is not a properly planned MMOFPS and would be written off like some games (think Neverwinter & Ultima Online).

I have an idea about the survival mode what about an old abandoned hive city were you go through the layers of the building cleansing the hive city. It could work on all factions and all load outs for example the raptors/assaults could use the large spaces or could pop outside to go up a level and renter the city higher up to counter strike the nids.
Just think an abandon hive city may have another impact than just dungeons and underground.
