don't worry after eldar campaign Dragon will get nerfed .. just like Kannon did after they saw the numbers from the last ork campaign
The Kannon is obviously oneshot everything and have a long range pinpoint accurace. Only what kannon needs - higher damage falloff in AOE to prevent oneshots if you splash enemy. And what about dragon - devs doing wise firstly nerfing the sepent lawnmower. If nerf FD it will be completeley gimped towards versatile tactical of other factions. Joke - beeing considered like a "specialist" (suck) in AV work.
They wouldn't suck at it. It would take them as long as tactical equivalents, and tactical equivalents are pretty good at it. As long as they were able to destroy rhinos and preds slightly faster than their csm/lsm/ork equivalents, they would still be the best at the job in the game. Is 1% better good enough? probably not. Are they currently overtuned due to the dual meltabombs? probably.
No, just fucking no. They decided to be AV specialist with no possibility to chose other kind of loadout so they should be better than tactical equivalent. More versatility = less efficiency into a specialized spot and vice versa.
They will keep the double melta for the moment and it's good at it is. (probably will be nerfed after the Eldar campaign, since dev use them to "spot" what they consider broke). Even more since last time Dev talked about firepike they said it was going to be a heavy moving weapon. Eldar specialty is mobility but they keep modifying weapon that represent this point, like Shuriken Cannon.
Here is the thing, they can't just nerf Fire Dragons. They need to rebalance their damage. Removing the meltabomb bundle and calling it a day will make Fire Dragons terrible at their job compared to their equivalents. This is due to the fact that Wave Serpents only have 4800 health, compared to a Rhinos' 8000. They can't have their Fusion Gun buffed, otherwise it becomes too good at anti-infantry. They need to buff the Meltabomb for Eldar, so it takes 1 bomb + 1 burst to kill a Rhino.
I disagree that it's fine as it is, but I don't really want to argue the same thing that has been stated hundreds of times by both sides already. The good news is that Noah is going to add xp for rhino drivers, which will get the other factions to keep a driver in the slot more often [probably?]. It'd be easier to tell how broken the double meltabombs are when the factions are behaving the same-ish. That is the direction that I would like to see it taken as well.
Unfortunately, you can bet they will just nerf them into the ground. The rabid calls to nerf when the campaign rolls around will see to that.
