?

Are you for a random jamming and misfire feature for weapons ?

  1. Yes, I support a random jamming/misfire feature : better wh40k ambiance

    50.7%
  2. No, I can't stand such an idea : this is boring and unfair

    44.5%
  3. I have no clue

Before you all answer NO with the utmost vigourous will to this poll, I would like to point out some wh40k universe interesting rules, depending of the faction :

    - Eldar have the most trusty and deadly gear : meaning they will barely never jam nor misfire.
    - Humans (chaos and marines) have an old gear, they barely understand, thus worshipping it like it was filled with spirits, aka Machine God, which is kind of neutral between loyalist and traitors.
    - Orks have the worst gear there is : weapons jamming, misfiring and exploding frequently.

Thus, to suggest another approach to balance the game, Eldar being certainly the faction the less populated at launch : thus getting the best gear will help the faction to get some players, as to be closer to the wh40k universe, I ask you to think about such a feature to add.

Now, you can answer the poll and feel free to leave your opinion on the subject, as civil as possible.

    Thx in advance :)

EDIT : this obviously concerns only guns and canons, close combat weapons never jam.

EDIT 2 : see posts 26 to 28 to have an idea of how it could be implemented without being too crippling. The suggestion change the randomness for a minigame while reloading, like in Gears of War, which could result in your gun jamming or misfire.

Heh nothing would piss me off more than to lose because my gun jammed :p NerdRageTastic!

Close combat weapons never jam nor misfire : this is only for guns/canons ;)
  4. Randomness has no place in a skill based shooter.

While it may sound nice and immersive, I dont think having to worry about my plasma gun blowing up in my hands will be that appreciated in the long run.
  6. Locutus Locutus Arkhona Vanguard

I'm leaning towards no. I don't see it adding anything good to gameplay really.

In wh40k : space marine, if you overheat with plasma weapons, you won't be able to shoot before the gauge comes to zero again, and there are some misfire sometimes : you click the fire button but nothing comes, or lately, which is close to a misfire.

Of course a weapon exploding and killing the player using it is too much in my opinion also.

An ork has no reason to believe his gun will jam. Space marine gear might be old, but it is kept very good care of. Maybe its just the Blood Angels who take piss poor care of their storm bolters...(****ing genestealers)

Blood Angels are also a chapter of famous crafters, they do build some gorgeous crafted armors as they certainly maintain they gear in very good condition ^^
Yet human gear is known to not be the best when it comes to trust :/

Machine Spirits are basically limited AIs. Apart from worshipping them or not.

So far, Orks are the least favoured race based on the poll of http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/what-race-will-you-play-at-launch.170/ . And they would get the worst gear? By your logic, they should get the most stable equipment to balance their small numbers. Also, spacemarines should get the worst becouse they going to have more numbers than orks and eldars together.

Either balance all of them more or less equally so everyone getting their weaponry some % to get jammed/misfire with minor differences in the certain factions... wich can be decreased by proper maintenance, or leave out this feature entirely. Its neither boring, nor unfair, but I still think this feature should be left out.
