Subbed Ork Players Thoughts On F2p?

Discussion in 'Orks' started by FuriousWalnuts, Oct 25, 2013.

  1. Or completely right, This is a warhammer game after all the pause between action bits should be as small as possible and I think the mob essentially will just go large fight to large fight. I envy the skill of whoever is able to marshall the F2P's.
  2. You know the worst thing about PS2 imo? The idiots who stand around at the warp gates, doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL.

    I too envy Wizards...
  4. That made me laugh most heartily, I thank you.

  8. Most of the people who purchase the game or pay money for aspects of the game to unlock their accounts will be long standing Warhammer 40 000 fans in some form or description. Having B2P is no barrier to immaturity, I am a somewhat tad concerned about the Space Marine community. Though the immature members of the community are often the ones who never post on or register on forums either. With this said, most "immaturity" involving Warhammer 40 000 is cooked up by internet trolls who have little respect or care for our hobby and see it in a negative light rather than a positive, so look to any means they can to get others to agree with them. The toxic members of our community are very few and very far between and are as obvious as a pimple on a face of a Sister of Battle, rather than a pimple on the face of a follower of Nurgle, like unfortunately in other communities, where the lines between toxic and non-toxic behaviour blur. In a lot of Free to Play games, unfortunately someone who buys game content isn't always someone who is a perfect example of the best of the community.

Toxicity isn't something I am worried about from F2P players at all and expecting it only encourages immature people to perform it because it is expected just to get a kick out of annoying people.

What I am expecting however, like a previous player stated, is the same manner of attitude towards the game from F2P players as that of F2P players in Planetside 2 and other games which have a limited F2P option.

That's exactly what I expect to see. And that is incredibly orky.

What one should be concerned more about is, is this game going to be solid and enjoyable enough for said newcomers to commit to the game or have a good opinion of it?

Because the F2P Ork option is how the vast majority of the gaming community who are not Warhammer 40 000 fans will judge this game and believe me quite a lot of them will give it a whirl because for the first few months of it's release or even during public beta this game would be the curiosity of streamers and youtube celebs. And they currently are the source of how many members of the community judge their choices in games these days (outside of smartphone and facebook games), I assume this will become a stronger trend over the next 2 years.

I cannot understate the falsity of your statement, because your statement is true.
