Stylized Vs. Realistic

    I like their looks :)

    I like their gear, too

Compared to the sleek and clean weapon designs of almost every other faction Ork wargear feels pretty unique and cool. I love those descriptions too

Ork gear looks far grittier and brutal than that of other factions. I'd say that's quite a factor in a universe that claims to be super grimdark. And I also believe they fit in just fine. They kill a lot, and are essentially one of the Imperium's oldest enemies, surviving because of the sheer amount of them and the cleverness of a couple select individuals.

I don't see where any of you came up with the idea of changing the art style completely to make them look more serious, but I personally don't remember any official GW art where they looked different. Anything will look kind of brutal when it's got an arm long blade shoved up your gut, be its art style childish or not.

I can see the fanbase already dividing to groups, before it can even be referred to as one, due the game's incomplete state. I wonder if the devs are pulling hairs, when determining who to listen to, yet?

I'm aware many Wh40k fans like orks' image as it is and I agree it has a certain charm to it. However,
personally I'd prefer them to look much grittier and realistic - but that's just my opinion and I know it's not gonna change GW approach to orks. On the other hand though the fans approach to ork art style is beginning to change and from time to time one can come across some fan art which doesn't fall into this old school canon.

Prefer darker stylized, realistic gets dated very quick.

Well, I'd like to see a stylized approach, if only because it will age better. However, I'd avoid tacky cartoonishness and pastel colours. This is a gritty, dark future and the design should reflect that. At the same time, I'm against having yet another brown-scale game like EVE: Dust. It's just boring looking.

I agree with a realistic style for the orks, but just because it's realistic doesn't mean we can't have humour (when I say humour, I mean bloody, gory humour involving grots being forced into all number of dangerous situations)

I wonder if colour filters will be a thing in EC. I dislike them being forced like in BF3 and 4, but having a variety of colour filters available allows you to suit how you want EC to feel like when playing. World of Tanks and War Thunder both do this, with the former having more variety, ranging from one which mutes colours, a WW2 filter, a warm filter, etc.

This game would work best with the same amount of realism that was in space marine. I thought that game really captures the look and feel of 40k really well.

I agree. Gameplay wasn't ideal, but ambiance and lore were there.
