I'd like realistic proportions but stylized anywhere else it needs to be to keep those FPS up. No stylization should make them look "adorable" or "cute" though. The proportions used in the artwork in the codexs is the best imo
I'd rather it look very grimdark, not too much of a fan of the light, fluffy colors in 40k. Unless it's the beginning and untouched by the inevitable violence. I like the codex art alot, personally, and think that it shouldn't be cartoony, but very much like the Space Marine game.
and thank god for that, otherwise the mod i'm working on would have been for naught.. they did however contact us to change our name since it had Warhammer in it.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/men-of-warhammer Men of the Emperor:burning Horizon(previously known as Men of Warhammer as the link shows) 40K mod for the game Men of War, a fairly realistic and detailed WW2 RTS. We're making IG for the first release and probably a few after that as they're the easiest to do right now and fit perfectly in the base game. later on we hope to add SM, CSM, Tau and a few other races. Melee focused chapters and races won't make it in though since MoW has a horrendous melee mechanic. progress is slow since it's just me doing all the models and textures at the moment and another guy exporting and coding them into the game. We hope to add a dedicated texture artist to the team to help speed things up.
Nice, glad that GW gave their approval. I always thought mods like this went unnoticed by GW. It's nice to see that as long as you keep "warhammer" out of it, your're A-ok! Good luck on finding a texture artists and possibly more team members!
"progress is slow since it's just me doing all the models and textures at the moment and another guy exporting and coding them into the game" i feel your pain as i'm the only modder/texturer/coder in my warmaster mod for dow2
They do to some extent. As has already been indicated, they'll sometimes ask people to keep their trademarks out of mod titles - and they take objection to mods which aren't total conversions and/or mix in elements from other IPs. Both are entirely understandable, IMO.
