In Space Marine or Gears of War the player chooses to execute his opponent with a fatality, he doesn't have to do it to get the kill, he can just shoot or give a quick melee hit for the killing blow. In gears of war it was a real risk to try to execute your enemy : but the fun made it worth it. Thus I hope for executions to be in the game, as I do hope there will be no invulnerability : would be so fun to snipe a foe performing an execution ^^
you think too much like a game designer, and not enough as a player. sometimes id rather have my game look realistic than having everything in it circle around perfect gameplay. there should be compromises somewhere to retain at least a bit of realism... sometimes people get too much into that "its just a game" mentality and it ends up being an abomination instead of something i would love to immerse myself in.
Everyone fanboy (and fangirl) knows that in 40k there is a lot of Grim Dark. That animation had nothing grim, nor dark, about it. In fact the animation and the shape of all of the characters pretty much reminded me of Team Fortress 2. Especially the very beginning where the Chaos dude used the axe.
Yeah, I think there is a lot to like here. But I think they seemed to misunderstand some of the fundamentals of the lore. Eg tech marines are not mages, which is what it seemed like they were trying to do. I'm just pissed I'll never see space marine two. A flawed little gem. And who knows maybe dark millennium could have been the same.... Whos to say.
