Every thing in the store is optional. But as the thread title implies the prices are a bit too high.
We know nothing of the items and if they will have stats or not. So either side of this discussion is just basing in assumptions. But better be safe than sorry because i for one dont want a p2w game. And dont want it dont buy it is not an argument. And again prices are too high. Have a look at ps2 store . Skins are cheap and weapons aswell. And most of the weapons can be unlocked via in game.
  2. Multiple spots in the FAQs confirm weapons ARE unique weapons, as are the Heroes, with their own unique stats/abilities. They are not just re-skins, they are paid content.

I will say I'm happy, at the very least, that it sounds like Heroes/weapons will still have to be unlocked the same way their base-game counterparts will.

But nothing is guaranteed exclusive, that's my biggest problem.
RT store stuff surely is not.
$35 special weapons risk a chance of being returned and changed back into RTPs to keep Miguel's 5% quota.
So why should I buy now?

Its a very tricky situation... You are paying for stuff with their own stats then not just cosmetic. While we dont know if it will be gamebreaking its a matter we should keep under surveilance. I dont have an issue with cosmetics I enjoy and buy the but not at that price. If you are paying for stats... thats not good. Everything with stats should be acessible for everyone who buys the game wether you play a lot or not so much. Should ne a matter of time and effort not money.
  5. I wouldnt worry about losing th3 $35 gun. Legally the game only needs 50k players registered to keep the gun, if they cant even get that to play the game, then yea there are bigger fish to fry than keeping the gun since there wont be a game to use the gun in if they cant get 50k people to buy the game :p I think there are over hmmm 75 million steam users, so you should be safe the sooner they can get this to steam the better. Seeing that banner ad at the top of the store page to 75 million people will have them diving into money bins like uncle scrooge.
  6. Was expecting the RT prices to be about a fifth of what they are, not real comforting for the long term outlook of the game.

edit: most ps2 guns are between 5 and 7 dollars so this is generally at least 3 times higher.

If it were a plasma rifle I just might fall for it...
But $40+$35 is a bit expensive.

yes considering that this is a b2p and ps2 is f2p the price are exagerate (a gun at the same price of the complete game???)

I am not concerned about the prices. The reason the prices have started so high in the EC founder store (eg. $35 weapons) is because it is much easier to change prices down for items later on down the line than to change prices up. The former means giving out a few dollars as refund, making everyone happier and making more sales. The latter leads to ranting, rage quits and resentment.

If you dont like the prices then dont buy the items for those prices. Get the cosmetics on a sale, or make sure to buy them if the price drops to a more acceptable level. Within a year of release there will be so many weapons and weapon skins available anyway that even people who have these initial weapons might not even be using them.

When ps2 first came out it was exactly like this twenty dollars for one gun.
