I guess I just don't get it. I see P2W as giving an advantage in near every situation. Being stronger in general. We'll have a variety of weapons. I'm assuming different bolter models will be there. If there are 5 bolter models that have varying stats, a 6th with equally varied stats suddenly becomes unfair?

Just click on the damn thing , it's in the description. What info did you read. And if it alters gameplay in any way it's p2w. Buy to play means you have everything that affects the game available. If they start with bolter variations now , what will happen when they implement the actually interesting weapons.

I'm pretty sure bolter variations were already going to be a thing though. Same with customizing weapons.

I guess we have different definitions of P2W. For me P2W is when you buy an item and it gives you an advantage over another person, whether it's in just during one scenario or all of them. If a weapon that is behind a paywall gives you an advantage during (for example) long-ranged combat, then your chances of winning against another person of equal skill are higher.

But of course. It's a skill-based game. Just like in Counter-Strike where you can kill a person from long-range that is carrying an AWP with a glock, but it's usually not something that ends in your favor.

I remember reading in multiple locations that, yes, there will be significant differences between each weapon, faction, class, etc. to allow for an extremely large amount of customization, so that each player can play whatever type of game they would like to play.
This doesn't mean that one weapon's uniqueness suddenly makes the entire game P2W. They've already confirmed that a single Ork can 1v1 a single SM, or any other faction/class, given equal player skill on either side.

Your statement is only true in the sense that a Sniper Rifle is P2W when used at 1km versus a Choppa or a Baneblade versus Guardsman.
A weapon's "application" does not make it P2W simply because each weapon will have its strengths and weaknesses. Learn to beat a weapon's weaknesses with your weapon's strengths and you will be victorious.

To me that isn't Pay to Win. That's Pay to Win in an Extremely Specific Situation That Applies Nowhere Else.

Say this gun has more rounds but less damage and a shorter range. It gives an advantage early on but then everyone just equips the weapons with the most range and gun them down before they're even in firing range. To me the items are supposed to be strong in certain situations. Otherwise there's no point in getting them. There's always a weakness if something is balanced. If you see a group of people with that bolter model, exploit the weakness and stomp them. It's their fault for relying on their items.

Ofcourse but customizing it and buying it is two different things. P2W doesnt mean you have a 100% chance to win. It means you have an advantage over people who havent paid. And in this case it's even worse because they actually paid to buy the game.

Why do we pay for heroes if we already paid for the game? Heroes aint cosmetic , they are actually a better class available with cooldown. The umbra bolter's description says it has more ammo and no , it doesnt state lower damage. This my friends is p2w without any hint of doubt. It's paying to have in-game effects that people who dont pay cant have. And i repeat: if this happens for the most common things like a bolter and a bike , what will happen when we go to the more delicate stuff like special weaponry , armors etc. And that reminds me: the armors' descriptions are refering to in-game benefits , no doubt about it. And even if there was a doubt , their huge difference in pricing blows it all away. If they are the same how come the khornate armor which looks better cost 5k while the tzeentch one cost 15k?
  8. I dont have any other stats than what is in the weapon description. They described the weapon as having more ammo than your standard bolter. I might have jumped the gun when I called it p2w but without any other information that was the conclusion I drew.

Can you get Rogue Trader points by playing? Or do you unlock new things other ways?
  10. Murtag Murtag Cipher

It is not because we haven't seen the damn stats. That model had more ammo in the fluff. That's why it was there. The devs have state multiple times that these items can be changed if needed. Jesus.
