Burn out should be a concern. We all (hopefully) want to see more players in the game. I don't think the other 2 factions should be short changed. They've earned their turn after this. I am worried about the negative effect it's having on the playerbase, especially the new players.
Ugh. Done until the stupid campaign is over. Maybe until all of these stupid single focus campaigns are over. If you expected this to get people to play more factions it might have been interesting for them to have someone to play against.
I'm fairly sure that Chaos are taking longer because they adjusted the numbers needed to win after the Orks steamrolled the last one in 2 days. This way you have to keep playing for most of the week. They probably didn't expect the sheer size of the green tide and based the win target on pre campaign Ork numbers.
I think it is because every other game is a clanstomp aka those weak players who join a clan and then pick on PUGs because they can't win against any team with communication
Holy christ, bE. Is it really that hard to not do ONE faction campaign but a TWO faction campaign? SO WE HAVE ALTERNATIVES AND IT WON'T DESTROY QUEUE TIMES? It's like some dumb producer from the licencing company which doesn't listen to the community is controlling everything from behind a curtain and won't let the design company control anything...
So i'm pretty sure that the single faction campaigns are so the devs can get stats on what each faction is using that is OP and what needs buffed. I mean they could read every bitch thread in the forums but then they'd be nerfing things that didn't need it and buffing things that were already OP. Do you really want to see an apoth able to equip heal nades a heavy bolter and a powerfist with elite armor. Cause im sure thats what would happen if the devs read the forums.
But is it really getting to that point in earnest? I mean, yes, people will play the campaign faction, but they don't get a proper feel for how it is to play with them. The campaign faction steamrolls over everything, it's ridiculously easy to play as CSM right now, the only hope of a loss is facing a guild premade. The only upside I'm seeing is that if you REALLY want to test how good of a player you are, try and turn a PUG team to victory against the campaign faction and you'll be more challenged than you'll ever be in this game outside of playing a guild.
It's also worth noting that the Ork campaign was with a much smaller faction, we swelled their numbers several times from what was before and a lot of people hadn't fought Orks enough to know how to handle them. Though even with that Chaos has tabled LSM and Orks multiple times over now, only Eldar are resisting.
I like this for one reason: Do you know hard would it be to get all ten wins on all factions in a week? Daaaaamn! Plus than they would be hard pressed to fill the "win bar." I can't be interested in multiple faction campaigns unless the fill bar requirement is removed, and the campaign time is increased and/or the required win numbers are lowered. Not everybody is a dedicated no lifer and proud of it. I remember that I had to play 50 LSM matches to get the last non single campaign , it still failed, and I never even had time to touch the other races. I'm sorry, but zoooog dat! Now why do I want free stuff? Because all the good gear is GATED BEHIND DAMN LOCKBOXES! Do you know how hard it is to get them if you haven't been no lifing the game for months? New players are kept behind this grindwall, handicapped so that even if their skills are okey, they will still be at a serious disadvantage. That is not good for player retention, not at all, and the extra rewards win in campaigns at least go a tiny little way in helping this.
