As for founders voting instead of open voting it is simple economics for finding fairly dedicated players/early adopters. The dollar is simply a gateway mechanic, there is no way you can find "true fans" to vote short of resumes and interviewing...which is unfortunately not that practical for this purpose. So founders solution is a total win-win, more working cash for BE, and a fairly effective way to trim down the votes to more dedicated fans/early adopters. Plus if you don't want to buy in now because you really want to vote...well then you don't want to vote bad enough especially when you consider the buy-in is not anything insane. I would say that the votes should be more pointed towards things that are being funded by the founders money, this will make it more like voting with your wallet for features you really want and doesn't completely effect the base players since the features would not be in the game otherwise (or at least so soon).
So its a Plutocracy then, what next will those who pay decide for everyone else? It would be great if those payed 100$ got to vote twice to those who just bought for fifty that would be...slurp delicious.
Its not a plutocracy, its business Thats the simplest way to put it, heck they are almost obligated to do a founders program if the demand is there (Which it is)
Well to be honest the pay to vote system is quite ok in my book. It creates a link between developpers and thoses who invest money into the game , without allowing any kind of external spam . Warframe did the same and honestly as a non founder , i never felt that it was an injustice. they paid , they supported , they now have their own channel and founder-only vote too
Keep them coming. Huh ? It's an extra service offered by a private entity in exchange for payment; capitalism. That's like saying that having more expensive high-end functions on an automated car wash are a plutocratic plot when you don't yet own a car.
I think the political analogy is dangerously close to derailing this thread. The fact of the matter is that most founders care more about EC than most non-founders (proven by their greater willingness to pay for it). In my opinion, it is therefore more than acceptable that they get slightly increased influence over the game. Considering that this feature is relatively minor regardless, I'm actually quite surprised that some take it this seriously.
So the founders program will have ALL four races right? Because I rarley seen some info on the orks and eldar, execption being the model steve showed us, and that WIP sketch of the ork hero class...
