    Average player-count:
A big jump in September 2016 (game-launch) that slowly recedes until February 2017.
A very big jump in March 2017 (F2P-launch) that quickly fades after June 2017.

    Peak player-count:
A big jump in September 2016, followed by strong oscillation up and down.
A very big jump in March 2017 that quickly fades after June 2017, followed by a convergence to a low count.

Maybe we need some additional analysis, but I don't see any other important changes in the player-count except from those triggered by the launches.

    Conclusions:

    1. Player-count is not correlated to the release of game-content. Be it a new Elite, or a new map or a new campaign... None of those register in the player-count.
=> The game-content of EC is not strong enough to draw/bind players. Additional game-content will not influence the player-count to a noticable degree.
=> The new campaign will not lead to a short-term increase in player-count. (Long-term effects remain to be seen.) As won't the additional content from the workshop or similar changes.

    2. There's a huge amount of players who played EC for a short while and then lost interest. Nathan's current strategies have (among others) the goal to bring back those ex-players. However, the data shows that this is unlikely if not accompanied by a massive PR-campaign similar to the launch-events.
  2. • bad optimisation
    • latency issues
    • No content
    • repetitive gameplay

Pretty much every time I try to play EC its like the machine spirits don't want me too, hell last time I tried to play the game crashed....I was like NOPE, then I violently beat my meat while listening to Powerwolf.
  3. EC needs a strong injection of content. A single map is not sufficient to bring people back.

We need a strong signal that the game is changing direction. The point is: does Behavior actually believe in this game or do they think it's a lost cause?

Behaviour certainly does not. Our dev-team might but CH hasn't believed in this game for a long time.

Useless elite not worth touching and badly designed map is not a real new content, hence why there is no population spikes related to it. EC didnt receive any serious content update post launch and its one of many reasons population is so horribly low.

EC needs more than new content. bE's reputation is in the gutter: EC needs some good PR.

Sounds like they need to do another marketed F2P to raise awareness

Content might be able to get some players to stay but it won't draw in the new people as you already have to be interested in the current content to care when new content is being deployed
  9. BS. It does.

gonna have to fix the steam button first lol
