This is an Icelandic saying that often, if there is one thing causing a problem, it's easy to fix. If there are more than one cause it becomes increasingly complex and that's the nature of performance problems in games. With Epic having released Unreal Engine 4.11, us doing more workaround, optimizations to art assets and maps, server system changes and more hardware, we still have a lot of factors. We know we've helped a lot of people recently improve their performance but this is an endless battle and we're not done yet. Our next major patch for Tuesday the 26th, which really is Thursday the 29th, which might become something entirely different like May 5th due to the very high complexity of this patch, which will include Unreal Engine 4.11 with their latest hotfixes[www.unrealengine.com] which if you didn't know has a huuuuge focus on performance and optimizations. This is supposed to be like if Khorne and Slaanesh got jiggy with it. Those of you that are still getting performance problem - or God-Emperor forbid - got worse performance in the latest patch, pretty please remember to send us a dxdiag bug report atsupport.eternalcrusade.com so we can try to spot a pattern. Personally, I play the game in 4K on a laptop at 40fps so you can see how hardware, drivers and setup can vary wildly so we are trying to catch more and more edge cases. We won't give up on you. What's more in that patch? Well, as only part of our team is working on the Early Access and the combat there, you will start to see some other things start to drop in from the other development pipelines we have and while unconfirmed - that could be our map pipeline, PVE pipeline, weapons and customization pipeline, character progression pipeline ... yes, these all exists and not all of them deploy to Early Access. This is why you might ask yourself sometimes, why isn't X, Y or Z in this patch? Why, it's because some pipelines do not deploy their work to Early Access Alpha yet. Now, remember, I said I hope - and it's unconfirmed what comes in the next patch - so I'm blatantly hyping you good people because it's Friday and the future is bright but even the God-Emperor points out you should never give up hope just because you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now tune in to our weekly Twitch.tv/40kcrusade and have a great weekend. With dirty filthy love, Slaanesh
Nice read @Oveur Anyway, 40 FPS is still pretty low and do not feel smooth, especially when we have a good machine and play other games (Witcher 3, Overwatch, GW2, BF4 etc) with 100+ FPS. The optimization is not done yet, that's why the game take more on processor than GC. Like Houman said today, we will have to wait Beta for real good fps, or maybe this patch will improve them a lot ! Wait n see
```````````` I am not entirely sure how to send a dxdiag bug report. Do I just access dxdiag and click save all information and send that? Because for whatever reason my FPS took a pretty large hit this patch, where others have gained.
Unreal Engine 4 is capped at 62 frames per second by default. We've tried to remove it but we go reports of graphics cards frying because they ran at full (unnecessary) performance where you saw no difference. I think EPIC knows what they're doing
Ah yes i wasnt passive-agressive at all @Oveur ! I just wanted to say that between this patch, and the future optimizations to come, the FPS should be okay
There is no need to go higher than 60 ar 65 fps because your eye is capped at 55 or 60 fps though for me personally 35 fps is pretty nice.
as you command bozz! no its a lay! i can see more then 60 fps it seems :O at least i see the differenz between 100 and 60 fps
