I am playing this buggy, unfinished game couse I am trying to be beliving! Damn... I have no idea what more I can do to show my faith...
I will start hating if next content patch will not give me some serious reasons to be calmer. Asheru will be very busy locking my threads.

  3. Sorry but ECs problem isn't the setting. The problem is it's just not a good game. The only reason the game still does have players is the setting and the 40k fans, but it certainly isn't the reason it has so few players.

I am a 40k fan and I play the hell out of BF 1 simply because it's a good game. I'll play it over EC any time because it's just better in any possible way. In fact I haven't launched EC in almost 2 weeks and I don't even miss it.
On a side note DICE never claimed BF 1 will be realistic or totally historically accurate.

Then why claim it's set in WW1? If you denote a specific historical event, the assumption is that it is adhering to the reports of that event unless it is specifically stated to be revisionist fanfiction.

Same way BF1942 was an arcade shooter set in WW2. BF1 is an arcade shooter set in WW1.

Which works! Sure there have been some delays, but Beta 1 should start soon.

Because some people play games for fun and not to sit in a trench for 4 years reading stories about the Huns eating children, having a merry sing song and being sent to a field hospital for injuring your hand on a nasty splinter whilst trying to go over the top.

    Also Verdun already exists.

Then again I'm not exactly deep-striking onto Arkhona to bring death and ruination and actually achieve anything of real worth.

  8. Theres a difference between realismn and authenticity. BF 1 isn't realistic, that would mean sitting in a trench for hours waiting for the artillery barrages to stop just to go over the top and take a bullet to the head after 10m, that's just wouldn't be a lot of fun. BF 1 uses weapons, vehicles, locations, events and stuff and builds upon it. So its not realistic but authentic to an extent.

In french we have a saying that translates: "hiding the misery".
Why show the number of players when it shows how much of a failure the game is?
Unless someone thinks that less than 1000 players is considered a success for an online shooter^^
I'm sure nathe thinks it's good. After all it's what he achieved with Dusk bwahahah

Keep in mind, its called battlefield 1, not battlefield ww1.
I think thats done on purpose.

Most ww2 games are inauthentic as fuck aswell, it wasnt even half as mechanised as the games would have you believe.
There's so many pictures of cars, halftracks and tanks because they were special.
Lots of armies, esp the germans made heavy use of horse drawn carriages etc.

I'd love to play an authentic ww2 game driving a Tiger tank, that would be hilarious as hell, just drive across a field and keep destroying enemy tanks who either cant reach you with their guns, or cant even hope to penetrate your armour.
    ghehe.
    esp multiplayer would be loltastic.
