I figured as much, but the joke was too good to pass up. :D

Dwarven beards are extremely effective camouflage, they make Dwarf women look so much like Dwarf men, that many people think there ARE no Dwarf women!

Like I said above, stealth/infiltrate isn't invisible, it's shaded. The faster you move, the less terrain around you the more you show up. Also once you are close enough to an enemy it breaks straight away, no backstabbing style attacks, attack once stealth breaks. Also it would depend on individual units detection rates, if someone has a scanner and you are in range of it then everyone in his/her squad can see you plainly until you get out of range.

The biggest danger to stealth/infiltrating units will be scout units, if your enemy has infiltrators scout units deployed in strategic locations will light them up like Christmas trees for your entire battle force to see.
  6. ...which means there's a population balancing effect, and stealthers become progressively less useful the larger the battle, because one scout can light up many stealthers like Christmas trees.

Another reason for stealthing to be a secondary mechanic for classes, rather than a primary one, IMO.

agree with you on that it should be a secondary mechanic for classes

Stealth should be reliant on a players ability to conceal himself, no bonuses or gimmicks or abilities. Just use of terrain, obstacles etc.

And camouflage. Only there are no camouflages in Warhammer, but rather cloaking devices.

Stealth and infiltration is ESSENTIAL for tactical games. In real life as well: since ancient times scouting and covertness skills often came before pure brawl happened.
Now, it would have been perfect, if Eternal Crusade actually used infiltration units for.. well.. infiltration! And scouting. Putting beacons, getting rid of enemy's key units, hindering troop's movement and breaking supply lines, sabotaging and supporting.

They are one of the important aspects, adding tactics and diversity

People tend to hate infiltrators (especially good infiltrators) because countering them actually requires some thinking, teamwork and a keen eye, which is different from the tactics we are prone to: run and gun (no offence, I am too)
How many times have I seen people repeating the same mistake again and again against snipers/infiltrators.
Noone likes them, but a good game absolutely needs them.

Luckily for us, most of those players are either learning or bad/mediocre at playing those "rogue" classes. Because this class is not easy. A good infiltrator is a pain in the ass and it's completely normal. Keep your eyes open and work as a team - no sniper will stand against you, no matter what tricks he's using.
Alas, good team work is often yet to be seen..

Some one mentioned spotting. I hope EC wont have any spotting in it. God I hate when game has spotting system like battlefield 3 normal mode. Maybe spotting like Arma3 has. Or something like you can see enemies spotted on your ''worldmap'' and it will just show their spotted position and not realtime movement. And to look ''worldmap'' or tactical map it will cover your screen.

And spotting could have few second cooldown so you could not spam it.
Also minimaps like Halo has is a absolute No for me.
