After all the responses you've given us, I have a present for you: The Hurd "Physically, Hrud tend to be impossible to study as they wear ragged cloaks which they wear habitually and helps conceal their true form. This is namely a misshapen morass of decomposing filth though it is known that they have a female gender.[1b] They have been depicted as being a a crouched, diminutive creature swathed in rags, its face obscured by a hood, and possessing a rat-like tail.[4] It seems that the Hrud prefer darkness and are basically scavengers and tunnel-dwellers. They are found all over the galaxy, though never in large numbers. They are considered to be parasites, and when they are referred to it is usually as "infesting" a place. In addition the limbs of a Hrud have a bone structure similar to the human spine allowing the limbs to bend in any direction (hence the nickname "bendies"). They also exude various poisons from their skin. Their bodies liquefy rapidly upon death - conveniently making detailing the creature impossible.[1b]" ^Not technically 40k, but definitely worthy of inspiration...^ Projects with awesome conversion models, you'll have to scroll through to find them all: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/308749.page http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/473679.page http://warprime.blogspot.com/2014/03/how-to-build-warhammer-40k-imperial.html It's not offical.. but conversion work rarely is... there are many many Adeptus Mechanicus players who attest to this. You can definitely play a version of 40k Skaven if you wanted to. Sorry to derail, please, carry on as normal.
As much as I like Skavens, Hrud aren't rodents: "Games Workshop have never stated that the Hrud and the Skaven are parallel races, and supposedly GW wants to move Warhammer 40,000 away from its origins as "Warhammer in space"." "It should be pointed out at this stage, that the reader should be cautious when regarding information given to them about the Hrud unless referenced to official material that forms part of the official 40K universe. Because of the similarities between the Hrud and the very popular Skaven, fans have generated much of their own material."
Sorry for being so late to this thread. Welcome To Montreal ca fais plaisir de vous avoir parmis nous. The weather , the language and all around here is harsh to newcomers i hope you are settling in properly. At least you have poutine to try it helps a lot . Happy to have you on board we expect great things from you !!! FOR THE CRUSADE !
Plenty of room for fan fic here. Players are encouraged to create their own regiments, craftworlds, warbands, WAAGH's after all... who's to say that 40k Skaven haven't been created from some horrible experiment involving the warp? Mmmm warpstone.. delicious warpstone... which existed officially in 40k until about 2nd edition. Kinda like the squats...
I agree. Same things happen now with the development of new Unreal Tournament game - the devs are open, and they released a "pre-Alpha", which means that they have basic geometry and somewhat coded weapons. Any textures they have are placeholders from previous UT game. And yet the community is fine with it.
Ugh so many Text walls where on the path of my last post to recent.... Come on guys for the lazy people out there like me, Summarize your walls
Finally, a believable date for Founder's Access. All the previous ones sounded like fairy tale dreamland. Nobody who followed any games in the past and seen how long they take to make should have believed it.
Agreed, I am confused now but here is my understanding of the text walls. Summary: some front feel off , I don'y know all the details but its definitively feel off and now there are Skavens or is it the Hrud? Warpstone were so delicious ...just like squats who probably were as delicious, both got extinct some time ago. I personally blame Space Skavens. But anyway everything is alright because Unreal Tournament is in Pre-Alpha. In the end nothing to worry about and everything make perfect sense. You'r welcome.
