The deserter debuff from WoW lasts for 30 minutes. I think we'd be better served with a different punishment for
leaving games. Instead of an arbitrary number of minutes for you to wait, they should use the same system that League of Legends uses; you can't join a new game until the one you left has ended.

League's system is quite ingenious. If you leave early, you're punished harder than if you leave in the last seconds of a match. Also, it doesn't hurt you if you have to leave because of something important in real life, but if you quit just because you don't like the map you can either rejoin the match or start looking at porn, cause you ain't getting into a different fight.

It also gives you good incentive to keep fighting even if you don't like the map, because the faster you can help end the match, the faster you can get into the battle you want to fight!

I guess the only problem with that is if you are stuck with a couple of griefers in your instance, and theres no admin in sight to remove them.

Is this faction specific area going to replace the concept of player/Guild owned strike cruisers?

Just wanted to add that as the challenges of developing this game augment, we try our best to adapt and come up with clever solutions. I am someone that always believed that the best ideas come from tight constraints and unplanned events.

Like Miguel said, we need to distinguish ourselves to survive out there - betting on a few unique features and clever twists to known standards should be enough to make us stick out of the crowd. This, while making sure it all ties up to the epicness and uniqueness of the W40K setting.

But I need to share though that it ain't easy at times. Myself, I'm fuelled by my passion for w40k and the faith of our loyal Founders.

"Nobody win" is not an issue as long the campaigns will be persistent and meaningful.
Like in PS2 it was persistent to a point(if not that warpgates rotation) but holding had no value for me as a player.

Loved the update! My only concern is that the maps/outposts seem a bit alike "capture the areas in dffierent areas" hopefully more search and destroy or capture the flag-skull probe? will be in there to mix up the battles.

No, they have nothing to do with each other.
  9. I think nobody really wins means more: Nobody really looses :D

Quite some new cool things we learn here. I like the Idea of Civilian Maps.

I wouldn't read too much into "nobody wins" at this point in time. You haven't seen the campaign system and what we're really referring to.

But think of it this way, it wouldn't make a lot of fun if "an entire faction could be exterminated from the continent" winning.

Well, ok, I admit, Exterminatus and all that is fun when the red button is on my table.

But that's a different kind of system, and I would think that most people don't like "resetting worlds" kind of campaigns.

Hence, don't worry about "nobody wins". I mean, there were a lot of other interesting word in that SotC. Like "Ahoy". I'd be worried about that.
