?

Does it blend?

  1. Yeah, that's a juicy blend of mildly awesome person-to-person interaction package coming our way

  2. Yeah, I'm totally into juicy person-to-person interaction, even though it's a bit later

Don't mean to troll you here. That's also what Dota 2 and CS:GO are doing. They currently have 1 mil players each day. So? Until you admit that Destiny failed because its core is messed up then I'm sorry I won't agree with any of your opinions.

Beside, this is not console where devs just release a game (or half of a game), then sit back and count their money. EC is an MMO, devs in MMO don't get to rest, we'll get constant updates. Hey, but don't take my words for it, just an ASSUMPTION of course @BikerTroll. The whole team could just go on a 3 months vacation to Banamas, left Toes in charge of the game and we wouldn't even know about it.

Yea I'm not a fan of dota or lol but can't argue with its success. As for Destiny you pointed it out better the main fault with the core was that it was repeatitive. The classes and sub classes were well balanced and the difficultly was fair. It was successful after release and was fun to play until it became the same shit over and over and over with nothing else to offer. It was just go out and kill so many aliens or go and kill players and it became so repeative it got as boring as a second job with no rec room other then other more exciting games. So it died quickly from bored players sick of repetition

Then why haven't Dota 2, LOL or CS:GO died? They haven't made anything new for some time. All they've made are just parts of that same old players killing players match after match. No breath taking social place or shiny features at all.

Destiny failed because its core is bad, not because it doesn't have any shiny stuffs. All missions have the same setup: Kill mobs, horde mode, kill boss then rinse and repeat, and it feels even more repetitive with the completely broken RNG looting system. Its multiplayer failed because some weapons are so unbalanced, also core gameplay related. Story is cut into multiple parts to be sold in DLCs or posted on website but not included into the gameplay itself. Mobs and bosses are just punching bags that have HP bars...etc. All of those are bad core gameplay, not lacking of fun shiny features. Destiny has a very well made social place, it even has characters dancing and a ball for you to play with, it also has a cool loading screen with space ships travelling in hyperspace. But for some reason it doesn't have a trading system or nametag for clans, all are very basic features, not shiny at all.
  4. Miguel leaves, Patrick leaves.. Nathan came... I think Nathan has the smell of nurgle ^^

You should probably read before commenting on something because I never said they were bad games just that I personally didn't like them.
And what is the difference between Destiny's gameplay and EC both are just go out and kill mobs, bosses and players and repeat. That somes up the game play full stop only EC doesn't have quests which I personally don't mind. As for Destiny it doesn't have clans or any social factor other then you are forced into teams for strikes and one area where people are there solely to chill sort out there build and get quests and equipment.
  6. naaa EC is about killing players
PvE is just a small feature

remember the consumer promise of eternal crusade: be an elite soldier of 41st millenium.

this is a game about warhammer 40k, so the game need to have certain element that bring to life the 41millenium.

"but the game need to have the core element"

so the game failed it's purpose.

the game is not supposed to be only a massive pvp fragfest, it's not supposed to be a planetside third person reskin.

it's supposed to be an experience: it's suppsosed to be the 41millenium experience.

the game is about pvp only because war 40k is an universe about war and conflict, not because the game MUST be about pvp.

the important is to recreate a war 40k experience this is the core gameplay.
the feeling that the game give.

if the game deliver only combat then the game fail to center the scope of his creation.

the combat is only a tool for reach the final target of the game: be a soldier on the battlefield of the 41 millenium.

if someone want to play a massive pvp game there is a lot of alternative and probaly better alternatives.

this is why eternal crusade must offer sonething different: the war 40k is not only for attract fan.

Destiny has clans, please do your homework. There is a reason why Angry Joe got angry and complained clan was too small in that game.

And I used Dota 2, LOL as examples not because you said they sucked, but because you said games that don't have any fun social space for social interactions will end up fail. I used them as evident that even though some games have only basic social tool or none at all, they still turn out to be good. So far you've not been able to prove the lack of social interaction makes a game bad, just your personal like and dislike for certain genres.

Just saying that a MMO game needs MMO features and the game that now should not be named does not cater or have any inbuilt function to support clans or guild ect. Its like calling battlefield and MMO because people have clans for that as well. Im not saying that every game needs to cater for guilds ect but large MMOs do especially if you want well directed large scale battles. I can see no harm in having a instanced base/SC for a SF especially if it have have an affect on the core game play it can only enhance the gaming experience more then any dreadnought.

I know we are to stubborn to change our minds and I hope realize we both want the same thing for this game to succeed the only difference is I focus on the long term success of the game (with both players creating SF commitments and enjoyment) while you focus on the short term success which is lots of sales originally but with nothing to offer but just going out and killing players and nids over and over and over again (like another game we have talked about).

And I agree that that the core needs to be balanced and well structured and needs to be developed first as the new Warmaster Nathan is doing. (I know you will ignore all the parts we agree on and refuse to compromise as I had tried to do) But I think that EC need to offer more then what other games offer and its better to release a finished game that is fun with variety (in more then skins and side grades) then a game that has nothing but repetitive combat, otherwise players will get bored and move on.

So I fail to see how a game with well balanced core and a upgrade-able base boasting micro transitions and give purpose to players to get upgrades that can affect the battlefield while encouraging larger and larger SFs to do battle can harm the success of the game? Again I want the game play too and agree that should be the top priority as the warmaster is doing but it should not be the only factor otherwise it will get repetitive and die out.
