State of Melee - Apr 14

    I almost want to say they should just give Devastators a way to instantly kill themselves when someone closes in melee range hehe. But I agree that this is a problem, once I get into melee range. Devastators and Havocs are free kills! I think if they had a smart pistol, this problem could be remedied somewhat. They could also give Heavy Weapons classes more armor, something to give them a bit more time to react in melee perhaps.

    Hmmm...

    Either, I've become shittier at the game.
    Or, the Fist has been nerfed to the point where most every other meele weapon can best it fairly easily.

    BUT - tanksmash is still in, so I'm good all in all!

    Not sure how many 1 on 1 encounters you've had with Fist V Something, so my example of our duel earlier is anecdotal, at best.

    Either, you didn't use defensive bash properly to clang against my own, or defensive bash itself is broken again.

    I myself found it odd I managed to knife you against a Power Fist. :V

    Ohoho, I am actually uncertain about that particular instance ! However, defensive bash is definitely still not working properly!
    I used it several times against many different foes, only to be murdered in whatever colourful manner.
    But, to be fair, I should probably do more testing, as many times I've been shot from the side or gangbanged when trying to 1v1 people.

    Now I'm not sure if its just me on this, but DBASH is now somewhat harder to hit with. Either the enemy can just roll away and continue to attack. Lag is taking hold and they just attack through it. Or it just simply isn't working properly anymore.

    I have landed a dbash several times now and my oponent is never stunned, they are almost imediatly back in action and swinging back. I've reverted back to simply rolling behind preforming the matador evades rather than dbash and shooting. Or I often end up in the circle of death where I try to roll behind, but roll off to the side a bit, and the melee just unlimited rmbs until he catches up to me or I need to reload.

    Why melee is slowing getting to where it needs to be, I still say a swing cap would change up the melee scene dramatically and make melee classes think about their attacks. I mean even with a storm bolter at close range I need to point in the general area and mind my shot drift. fast attack remains so viable because its endless.

    Looks like it requires some additional testing, but in my experience there is a chance to block attacks from behind if you turn during earliest D-bash animation phase (i mean camera turn while holding W and pressing D-bash key). Maybe it has something to do with latency, but could it be connected to D-bash not working? gonna try it on founders to provide accurate feedback.
  8. I was just kidding a little :) If i were to do something like this, i should really stop gaming XD. I just wanted you to picture how it is frustating to not have the JP responding to your command.

    About I-frames during evade, i have to say, i do not feel them. Few times, when doing my evade, i do take some minor damage due to bullet and other times, i take full damage. If i remember my games last night, 1vs1 evade are fine, i take minor damage during evade. If there are more enemies, i take full damage.

    Sometimes, playing JP feels like playing the duck hunt shooting game on the old nintendo master system... and ranged are like the trolling dog... but well, i love trolling the troll ;D

    I don't understand, personally, why with our TTK, netcode gives priority to offensive actions(Like hitting you with bullets or chaisword), rather than defensive ones(like rolling away or trying to start bash).
  10. More defense = live longer = more offensive actions.

    Actually, sometimes, i just die in 1-2 sec without being able to do something. Or when i am dueling someone and you see another enemie coming at your back, you desperately try to evade but no, JP don't want and you die poorly and that is frustrating...

    There are still some issues with D.Bash but overall, it is becoming good.

    When i see how it was in Sept 2015 and nowaday, things have improved and i like it. But there are still many things to do and i am very curious about the accessories system and it will impact the Assault JP because when it will go out, we will loose automatically the mitigation and the life regen after successful hit
