R2D2 looks like a trash-can, the Tie Fighter looks like a huge testicle with planks protecting it, the walkers are huge camels, Jabba's pink servant has a penis wrapped around his neck, etc. etc. etc. You can make ridiculous comparisons with anything from the old star wars movies, and yet people seem to have a problem with a vehicle that they suddenly compared to an ice cream and a droid to a ball, and also decided to make an over the top exageration to a change in a fictional space sword (not to mention that there have been many different types of lightsabers in other media aswell, and darth maul's saber isn't exactly "safe" either). These complains are as fanboy as they can get.

First of all, this is a "Teaser", not a trailer. To be honest, I consider it a spoiler. There were 3 spoilers for me in it. I hate that football robot... Disney crap. I hate that horrible design for a lightsaber... Disney crap. There is absolutely no point to those mini side-lasers because if you do get in a 1v1 with another lightsaber, they get chopped off. Disney just thought it would look cool, but it pissed me off. -_- (big SW fan here) They better do this movie right!

What's even more hilarious are the people that are complaining that John Boyega is playing a Stormtrooper, there are actually Star Wars "fans" that think that Stormtroopers and Clonetroopers are the same thing... maybe the surviving troopers after the clone wars became stormtroopers, but eventually regular people got recuited, the troopers in the original moves are not clones.
Reading that wiki page, it does not seem to be the exact same thing though. "Forked" saber where the 2nd "blade" would also be facing forward... at a 45' angle. The teaser showed a 2nd and 3rd blade at a 90' angle from the main one. Even if it is legit SW stuff, I still think it is silly.
Certainly not seeing exactly how this is all some immediate, massive improvement over the "it never mattered" Expanded Universe yet.
Light Sabre Nunchakus, now that would be the worst idea ever for a practical weapon. I don't think anybody would get out of training without losing their own limbs.
