Next year? hmm it feels somewhat soonish, but i got to say it is a good step to reawaken the force, leaves it open for further movies.
Far from "everyone else". Every single person I have seen commenting these has been positive about it. Everyone looking to complain about something don't watch the trailer past the black stormtrooper. EDIT: EDIT EDIT:
*face palm* This may be the WORSE starwars yet... Jarjar Binks might be a improvement.... I guess I could look past all of it, if it were a done as a tiny indie project...but this film...has a budget that dwarfs some countries yearly GDP. When I saw the teaser for pacific rim, i was amazed, same when I saw the godzilla teaser, Avengers ultron teaser pretty good. Then the Goliath known as Lucasfilms and Disney show up with this?
I dunno. Sometimes during the middle ages, people would use the pommel of their sword to bash someone in the face, or so I've been told, so having a pommel that also cuts through anything would be helpful too. They could also certainly prevent your fingers from getting cut off if a lightsaber clashes and slides down. Just be careful if you're gonna stab someone with that... I really want this movie to be good, I really do. I've always been a fan of the Empire era, not that I hate the prequels of course, so I'm really excited about this one. But I've got a nagging feeling in the back of my head, a disturbance of the for- *This user was executed for making a bad joke*
I don't know why so many people are against the guard of his saber being mini-sabers, it's good protection and if he is so confident to build that on his saber then he must have enough practice to use it to his advantage and not to his own harm. I can't believe so many people are already going all "this is gonna be the worst thing ever" after seing only a two minute teaser that gave us barely anything, we still don't even know what the movie is about.
Either him or Andy Serkis. I can't tell which though. (You mean a Crossguard Skull_Splitta. A Pommel is a counter-weight/hammer-like piece on the bottom of the handle/hilt.) A lot of Trolls have been complaining about the Lightsabre Crossguard. Apparently someone has even Photoshopped it into a Menora. But I personally have thought in the past that if I could design my own Lightsabre (for KOTOR, etc) I would put a Cortiosis Weave Crossguard on it to help parry, lock, and deflect other blades/lightsabres. Lucasfilm/Disney just went one better!
Cross guards are good, however cross guards aren't made of blades, and it looks like you can still bypass them. You could even make the same argument that someone IRL well trained enough could use a sword with a bladed cross guard if he's good enough. It's a step towards realism that honestly I think has no place in Star Wars.
