To many, the choice to protect themselves or save an ally would be a struggle, to weigh the needs of someone known not for an hour against their own self preservation. For altars and Seryu, it didn't even require them to think. "For justice" stated Seryu. "For friendship" Kyras followed with a sigh. He started charging his tachyon arrow, aiming down at the ground. As the enemy ARCHANGEL was distracted by what it assumed was the threat, Kyras quickly jumped back and fired a blast from his Rod of The Covanent. As a Bulwark, ARCHANGEL was easily able to block the blast, but was knocked back a feet and a bit disoriented, which was all he needed. A Quick second hop bought him what he hoped was enough space, and finished charging the arrow. The TITAN KILLER was far to distracted by the near kill. It could almost taste its victory. Imagine its surprise then, when a viridian bolt screeched through both it's arms with a sound like a dying world, destroying them completely and reeking havoc with his systems. While it was no deathblow, it was half his firepower gone in a second and the interference alone would hopefully buy Yalei the time she needed. With a contented smile, he simply informed the pilot the "I will never abandon my friends" Unfortunately, all things cone with a price. Alarms screamed to life as the recovered ARCHANGEL closed the gap between them and quickly wrought two devastating blows upon the frame. The first took it's left arm, Tachyon arrow and all, and sent it flying off into the void. The second gouged a massive debt across its chest as the PRAETORIAN disengaged. Had it done so a second later, it may have cost it it's pilot. Even so, down an arm and with critical damage to the armor, the PRAETORIAN was left in a tight spot as the ARCHANGEL pressed the assault.
< @Shadhunter ; @Xanxas > Between an extra shield and the assistance given by Kyras, Yalei had time to recover. She rushed forward, crushing what remained of Titan Killer between her large shields before turning and blocking a final incoming strike aimed at the Praetorian. "Thanks, guys, I'm sorry you got hurt because of me. Kyras, Blast this guy down to hell, I need to concentrate!" With that, she threw the Archangel off-balance, wide open for Kyras to finish him while the Azure glow of Technomancy retuned. A blinking light on Bishop's screen indicated that a bit of rogue code had been detected, although it seemed to be accelerating the speed of his arm's auto-repair. "My way of saying thanks."
Kyras looked at the of kilter FRAME for but a second before cleaving it in two with his rod of the covanent. The FRAME had pressed him long enough, so he figured getting smacked to death by an over glorified boom stick was punishment enough. "Alright" he cracked his neck "who's next?"
OOC: Ooops, I do remember you saying that. Oh well. I was imagining it as a seat with a helmet that covers most of the face and then mechanical gloves and boot placements on the chair to control everything else. So, like Pacific rim, but less moving around for the pilot. "Ugh" Enyo complained as the amount of data gave him a short migraine. He used the speakers on the FRAME to speak to the mechanics. "Where is the rest of the the riders? Are they warming up already?"
The Iron Wall did exactly what Kelley expected it to. An uninspired, uninnovative quick method of throwing the enemy back into a defensive stance so that it may use its shield to continue fighting with a blocking advantage. However what the training FRAME didn't realize was that Kelley had expected just as much to happen, so it's response was slowed when Void Riptide's kick landed and then the leg bend into a kickoff position at the top of the shield. Veronica distributed power into the lower thrusters, so when the Iron Wall pushed the Riptide off, Kelley's FRAME did a frontflip over the massive shield of the Iron Wall. Normally any FRAME would be too heavy and clumsy to maneuver as so, but with the push by Iron Wall as well as the lower thrusters in the back and legs of Void Riptide, Kelley's frame nearly over rotated. Placing both its arms together the sword on its right arm turned the spinning FRAME into a circular saw, cutting in half everything on the Iron Wall from the waist up to its head. Void Riptide landed, then scanned the area to see of Titan Killer was still operational and if any FRAME was in the vicinity to attack it. Meanwhile Iron Wall fell sideways to the ground, motionless.
< @Xaphen > The mechanics looked up, startled, but the chief, Bannoi, nodded "Yeah! They're all down in the training room!" OOC: Read Starrunner (anime-esque Mecha Rp Thread) (Post #78 link) and follow instructions given < @WanderingJester > With Iron Wall down and unable to make the killing blow, It seems that Sergeant Gorgon was able to escape his predicament, albeit at the cost of an arm. As it was, he and the Lævateinn stood apart, staring each other down.
She had began to streak towards the bigger enemy, the one with the bigger guns. Eyes narrowed she probably got a bit too much tunnel vision. She was able to react to the so called Tachyon arrow. Just, it wasn't quite enough. Streaks of pain echoed her body as she chomped down on her lips. Her left leg was completely obliterated as she used all the focus she had to increase her speed as high as it could go and send Mortal summer straight into what was identified as the Praetorian's cockpit. She drew back as long as she could see she had penetrated the craft's hull and finally let out a whine, "Ah! Sister! Are you ok?!" Agalia called out worryingly, "No... but we're... not done yet." she managed to utter working out some sort of balance while turning to face their other problem, that Void Riptide. Her Bulwark friend took a really nice hit too. "You ok over there?" She asked forcing a bit of a grin.
< @Andraina > As Freya finished off the Praetorian, she would notice she was moving sluggishly, and her HUD was being scrambled. It seemed that the Tachyon Arrow had some sort of EMP effect < + @WanderingJester @Shadhunter @Xanxas > Even with everything that was going on, more contacts appeared on the screen. Red and Black Riflemen, Bladesmen, and Missile FRAMEs appeared... the color scheme of the Splinter forces. Sergeant Gorgon's voice ecohed over comms: "This... this was not planned. Everyone be careful! Someone has messed with my simulation!" He called before beginning to blast the Troopers out of the sky "Kelley, I'll cover you! Deal with the Lævateinn if you would! At the same time Bishop and Freya would see that Dunni's Cannon seemed to be a decent club, but he was losing ground quickly against the onslaught of the Void Riptide. "Hey guys! I'm not really built for this kinda thing!" he called as a blast from Dunni's laser gauntlet melted some shoulder armor. Yalei used her shields to block a missile from striking Kyras. "I'll cover you, so start blasting, alright?" She called to Kyras. [50 Riflemen, 50 Bladesmen, 25 Missile FRAMEs, Lævateinn (Boss), Void Riptide (Boss), SuperNova (Boss)] [Distance between your groups: 150 feet] [ @WanderingJester - Destroy Lævateinn and 5 Troopers, take a medium wound and additional wounds as appropriate] [ @Shadhunter @Andraina - Destroy either Void Riptide OR SuperNova, dealing a medium wound to the other AS WELL AS destroy 5 troopers each. Take wounds as appropriate] [ @Xanxas - Destroy up to 10 troopers, or destroy 5 and take a shot at a boss. Allocate a light wound to yourself and a medium wound to Yalei.] [ @Xaphen - Make a BIG DAMN HERO post, entering the simulation, destroying a wounded Boss and taking out 10 troopers. Allocate wounds as appropriate]
At long last, mused Kyras, I have some damn cover. There were not words for how grateful he was to be able to actually stand still. The shield of Yalei soaked up fire as Kyras fired shot after shot after shot at the enemy riflemen. Six went down to his canons, and another four dropped to the blast his rod of the covanent put out. Honestly, they were so clumped he probably could have hit more, but holding the damn stick and aiming it with one hand was hard. Honestly, he was lucky Seryu was around to help with targeting or he doubted he would have hit anything with the Stick o' doom. They were giving as good as they were taking though. A few more shots pinged of the armor of the PRAETORIAN, leading Seryu to remark she sure was glad this was a simulation or repairing this would be a bitch. Yalei however, was not as fortunate. A stray missile got past her shield, destroying one if her pistols and damaging the back of the shielding, much to the duo's dismay.
She frowned, "MAU! He didn't say it was EMP, Damage report!" Agalia quipped, "I'm trying to restart everything sister, but we're a sitting duck! I think the servos are burned out!" Freya closed her eyes and relaxed, "Che first one taken down. How embarrassing. Focus on the right arm, we'll try to provide some covering fire when we can." She opened up the Comms Channel, "I got some EMP damage and can only covering fire at this time, please advise."
