OOC: oooooooooooo -Nate Bishop & Auriel- "W-what!? No, no! T-the chef doesn't eat with the customers... butbutbut it's Mr.Bishop NO! It's not right..." Bishop had expected this, and decided to see how far he can go. He pushed the dish away and folded his arms. "Well I don't like eating while someone's watching me. So if you don't want to join me, I guess neither of us will ever find out just how good this meal is..." He stared at her, trying as hard as he could to keep a straight face. Auriel, with her mind filled with logic instead of knowing how to behave in social situations, interrupted. "Why don't you just take my word for it then? I think your meal is good, and I've eaten it." Indeed the plate in front of her was clean. Bishop had to muster all of his willpower to not facepalm in front of Skye. -Loren Kelley & Veronica- Veronica saw the rider's chamber open just as Kelley walked out and saw Morain bleeding on the ground. She tried to say something. "Mr. Kelley! Morain-" But the rider was already moving. Somehow he couldn't move this fast before, even during the battle with the boarders. He bolted by Morain's side, and gently lifted her up into his arms. He jumped clean off the catwalks onto the floor below, his legs some how absorbing all the impact of the landing. How, Kelley didn't question it at the time. Instead he sprinted with the injured Morain towards his living quarters, where a medical robot used to treat his previous injuries waited at ready at all times. He set her down on the bed and immediately the robot got to work. Kelley turned to Veronica and asked with two words. "Medical team?" Veronica couldn't move, just pointed at the doors of the holding bay. He jumped up on several containers stacked on top of each other (how? he didn't question again) to bypass the winding stairs up to the catwalks and hit the console to open the doors. Outside the medical team waited nervously. Kelley pointed at the living quarters below and said two more words to them. "Bed. Now." Before sprinting off the catwalks again, landing and rushing to Morain's side.
< @Xanxas > A couple hours passed, and a small alarm in Yalei's room went off. "OH! I need to go to medbay now. They need to do a final check that my body is accepting the Bionic. She led Kyras out of her room, letting him have the rest of the cake. "See ya!" She said cheerfully, giving Kyras a small peck on the cheek before skipping off, happy at the results of her surprise.
< @WanderingJester @Shadhunter (Nate Bishop) > Kylei's eyes widened, and she stared at Bishop. She was completely unsure how to react. She tried multiple excuses, Bishop denying all of them. Eventually (Not so long as for the food to get cold) she sat. "Would you at least take the first bite?" She asked, feeling very small right now. < @WanderingJester (Loran Kelley) > The medical team were shaking after seeing what Kelley was doing. However, never ones to fail at their job, they ran down the stairs and to Morain's side. They moved the robot away as it was so far unable to do anything. "We need get through her clothes. Jackson! I need a laser-knife!" It was produced quickly, and The medic reached down to cut off her clothing. The knife got closer to her body... closer... and closer...
Kyras Himself was also rather pleased with the results of said surprise. After all, Keki. He headed back to his own room and quickly tossed off his shirt, coat, eye patch, and shoes. He liked them, and this work tended to get messy. He thought she looked kinda impressed with his current stuff, so wait until she saw this bad boy! He grinned as he continued working on the newest of his designed creatures. Wait until she saw a canoptek spyder. Meanwhile, in the corner of the room SCARABs built their smaller counterparts. To really be effective, they needed to be built enmasse. Especially if they were to prepare from a threat that could come from any direction. That is why most were here, except for one. The single attack scarab that was cloaked on Yalei's shoulder, out their by Kyras during the party. After that little incident, their was no way he was entrusting these incompetents with her safety. He wiped his brow, some of the newly accrued sweat going down into the hole his eye used to fill. He looked over at Fredrick, a hologram of what the cloaked scarab saw playing in front of him as he bossed the other SCARABs around. Kyras smiled at that. The damn thing was his first project, slightly older than Seryu actually. He loved the little bugger like it was his dog or something (he never had been good at metaphors), and felt good that he could trust some of his tasks to it. Truly, when he was done here Yalei would never have to worry about being safe again. So deep in the lair of Kyras, lit only by the ominous emerald glow of circuitry and the blue of a plasma cutter, he schemed.
-Nate Bishop & Auriel- "Would you at least take the first bite?" Bishop smiled as the girl capitulated, and now trying to gain so sort of demand from him. Well he wasn't going to go down that easily. He pulled the dish back towards himself, and forked some food up. Still staring at her he said. "How about we both take it at the same time?" Auriel, though passive, was completely confused as to why this was getting to be such a big deal. It was only food after all. Maybe it's a survival thing with humans. -Loren Kelley & Veronica- "We need get through her clothes. Jackson! I need a laser-knife!" Veronica looked through the gaps in her fingers as she hid her face in her hands standing to the side. Kelley looked on, then as the knife got closer and closer to Morain he stopped the medic's hand. "No, I'll do it." The medic was startled, but before he could protest Kelley extended his hand out, and his medical robot rushed forward, sterilizing it then placing a sterile metal surgical scalpel unto it. Kelley then began cutting through Morain's clothing with delicacy and precision, aiming around the hardlight projectors and separating the clothing in the easier to cut spots, his face impassive and his hand steady as a doctor would.
< @Xanxas > As Kyras watched the hologram, Yalei arrived at the medbay. Before she walked in she said "I'm flattered, Kyras, but could you turn this off for an hour? I love you, but I'm not quite ready for you to see me naked." Of course cloaking an electronic machine wouldn't fool a Technomancer. < @WanderingJester @Shadhunter (Nate Bishop) > Kylei's eyes got even wider. She blushed heavily as she grabbed a fork, her hand shaking. She grabbed a forkful of food and put it into her mouth... as long as Bishop did. < @WanderingJester (Loren Kelley) > As soon as Morain's clothes were almost off, the medics turned him away. "We can take it from here. Let the woman keep her dignity, would you? Activate the Cauterizer quickly! We're losing her!" Veronica, watching the procedure, saw dozens upon dozens of re-opened bullet wounds and gashes. Bruises covered her body as blood streamed onto the bed. And worse, her Biometrics were still falling. they were dipping way too far. It could be possible that she couldn't be saved. Even the presence of her technomancy that was always present in the back of Veronica's mind was slipping away.
Repeated facepalms were had by Kyras. "Theres always something I didn't think of goddamnit. Fredrick, be a dear and turn it off for me would you?" The SCARAB did so leaving the him with the conundrum of how to watch her while not actually watching her. Decency can be an issue when trying to be secure. Who woulda thought? He grumbled more to himself. "Not as planned"
-Nate Bishop & Auriel- Skye and Bishop both forked their food in their mouths at once. It was quite good. As the two continued to eat Bishop found the dinner to be quite a treat. The chicken was spiced and cooked just right, thoroughly but without drying out. The vegetable was salted, giving it extra flavor. The mash potatoes rich and the gravy yummy. However, his face was impassive as he stared in Skye's eyes as they ate and drank. Then he put down his utensils, and started clapping. "Bravo Miss Skye, you've exceeded all of my expectations." He lifted his glass of remaining wine and said, "A toast, to a wonderful evening of good food, great wine, and even more pleasant company. As well as to the enjoy all this in the presence of a beautiful maiden." Auriel was nowhere to be seen, as she had taken off to do more important things, such as going over the Archangel's functionings, clearing up her digital dishes as well. -Loren Kelley & Veronica- Kelley turned away, knowing he couldn't do much more for Morain. He stepped to the side and looked away, unable to bear the sight of her dying in front of him. Veronica watched horrified as well, then suddenly remembered her last message to Morain. She quickly sent another message to Morain, hoping she can still hear it even though she's unconscious. [SIS! Mr. Kelley's ok! He got some help for you and we're both worried and PLEASE DON'T DIE!] With that the SOUL fell to the ground, sobbing her eyes out. Kelley looked at her, not sure about what had just happened, though just the same worried. Why was he so worried?
< @Xanxas > An hour later the SCARAB's screen popped back up. It was blank. Completely blank. Static. The audio was still working, though. Scuffling and coarse laughter was heard, as well as the sound of Yalei struggling. A familiar voice came over the radio. "See here, girly. You bump into someone, you pay the price. And don't you worry... We know yer Freaky boyfreind's nowhere near here." "Urgh... don't call him a freak..." Yalei said. "I won't like it." < @WanderingJester @Shadhunter (Nate Bishop) > As he said that, Kylei's blush cranked up to 11. She stood in a hurry and ran out. Which is odd, it was her kitchen. < @WanderingJester (Loren Kelley) > The wounds were closed one by one as her vitals fell by the second. Her presence in Veronica's mind was almost gone now... but suddenly it mixed with something else. It felt familiar... It was the presence Veronica had felt in Fate's Edge! If she looked deep, Veronica would see a black aura constricting Morain's familiar orange, enveloping it, choking it out of existence. The dropping of the vitals escalated at the same time it appeared, lending credence to the theory this presence was trying to kill her sister.
-Nate Bishop & Auriel- The girl ran out of the kitchen, and Bishop was left by himself holding the glass of wine up by himself. Even Auriel wasn't around. He shrugged. "Oh well, no point wasting good wine." He drained his glass in one go. Since his plate was finished, and the fact that Skye had ran out, he stood up and put the dishes into the sink, drinking the contents of her glass as well. He whistled as he did the dishes with the conveniently placed dishwasher and sponge, putting the now clean plates on the equally conveniently placed dish rack nearby to dry. When all was done, he grabbed the rest of the bottle on the counter and went back to his room to relax a bit with some holo-movie and alcohol. -Loren Kelley & Veronica- Veronica's eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw the black aura around her sister, though she was a hologram, so if that had happened it wouldn't be too troubling for the medical crew around. Still she recognized the digital signature of the aura and its source. She quickly got back on her feet and did her best to wipe her face free of tears before finding her voice and telling Kelley. "Mr. Kelley! It's Fate's Edge! It's killing her!" As expected, Kelley looked at her like she was insane, or at least malfunctioning. He opened his mouth to speak. "Don't be ridiculous, how can a FRAME-" She cut him off. "Please you have to trust me on this Mr. Kelley. It's Fate's Edge!" Kelley gave her a weird look, but saw something he never did in her eyes before, a glimmer. So he took off out of the living quarters without another word, hopping back into the rider's chamber with speed, and completely shutting off the FRAME's system from within.
