Could you show him about, please? Teach him what he needs to know." "Of course" Yalei then walked over to the table, cutting the cake and putting two pieces on their own plates. "I baked this myself. How does it taste?" She asked, eyes glued to Kyras. < @WanderingJester (Loran Kelley) > Morain was stunned. So much had happened all at once. Allowing her a glimpse, calling her Morain... Veronica's discovery...She wanted to yell, scream, tell him to stop, tell him she... But he was gone.
"It is very much good" he replied. "How are you doing though, you were banged up pretty badly earlier. Did you get lasers and rockets in you robo arm? Please tell me you did, arm canons are swag incarnate!" As he said this, he looked around the room. He had never been in here before, and was somewhat curious about it.
-Nate Bishop and Auriel- (Sorry forgot) "Nope. You're just gonna sit there. I'm gonna cook for you. What would you like?" Bishop, though reluctant, finally let the girl persuade him into sitting down, with Auriel appearing on the table. He waited expectantly as the girl flew around the kitchen like a profession chief, heating pans and getting tools ready even before he answered her question. He grinned, revealing his smile and raised his hand in defeat. "Ok, ok you win Kylei. How about some loaded potatoes with white gravy, cooked juicy chicken breast soaked in green and red sweet pepper sauce, steamed vegetables with chocolate mousse for dessert. With a Grenache red on the side of course. That is, if you can handle it." He added slyly, grinning at her. He spotted Auriel, who was observing the scene passively. "Oh and the same thing for Auriel please, in digital form." The SOUL gave him the "really?" look. "I don't need to eat, I am a program." "You can have the mousse too." The corner of Auriel's mouth shifted slightly, which for her is like jumping for joy. -Loren Kelley and Veronica- When Kelley finally reached Holding Bay 03, he was pleased the Fate's Edge was already in it. He moved down to the living quarters and began putting on his rider armor, when he saw Veronica glaring at him from the side, tapping her foot on the ground. There wasn't actually any hardlight projectors in the holding bay, she actually used a recording of someone tapping their foot on the speakers to make the point. Kelley pulled on the last parts of the suit and turned to her. "Yes? Veronica?" She pouted with her face, looking sternly at him. "The Zodiac System is not designed for humans! The head scientist in the UTC, the smartest man in UTC space said so himself! It exceeds the capabilities of any human in mental facilities and physically. I couldn't fully control it fully, and I am a freaking SOUL!" She gasped, losing her composure for a moment due to the fact that she's never used that tone or language with Mr. Kelley before. Kelley saw the opening and capitalized. "That is because you're not me, Veronica. For the longest time, we have had to rely on Void Riptide because nothing else matched its outer limits, and even that was not enough back on Y'Coren. I need, we need, and the UTC needs something that exceed my own abilities, and the Zodiac does just that. Are there risks? Sure, but the reward is well worth it." During this time Kelley had been maneuvering his way towards the rider's chamber, hypnotizing Veronica with his words and attention, only when the doors to the FRAME's interior opened and he had a foot in did she realized what was happening, and by then it was too late. "Even if it costs me my life." With that Kelley stepped, and closed the doors behind him. Veronica instantly tried to tapped into the FRAME's system, but it won't accept her input! She tried everything within the span of a second, even the executive override code, but the system had adapted to reject it. Desperately she sent a message to Morain. [Sis! He's gotten into the rider's chamber again! He's using the system! I couldn't stop him, please come down and talk some sense into him!] With that Veronica waited in the control chamber of the holding bay while Kelley connected himself in the rider's position to the Fate's Edge once more to run a simulation.
< @Xanxas > Her room was not particularly styled. A basic bed, a desk with a lamp a small synthesizer and small bathroom, just as Kyras' used to be. There were books all over the floor, from Fiction to Super-Technical Guides about Computer systems. If he were astute, he would notice an almost-complete collection of FRAME collectable Miniatures. She was only missing the Super-Rare Firebrand Statue. "I'm not telllliiiing~" She teased, leaning over the table to poke Kyras' nose. Suddenly she caught his eyes in hers. She stared and seemed to stop breathing for a moment before lunging on him, pushing him over as she pressed her lips to his before pulling back, basically laying on top of him. "I... I love you, Kyras." Her eyes shone with her love, but she also seemed scared, like she was afraid he would reject her because of what she had just done. < @WanderingJester @Shadhunter (Nate Bishop) > "Of course, Mr. Bishop! Coming right up!" She first walked over to the fridge, which seemed to be a stylized synthesizer. She looked over apologetically "It's hard to keep things fresh, so I have this. as long as I only get ingredients, It's not cheating." And thus she flew about the kitchen, working with a professional's skills and mindset, no missteps or flaws in her form. At the same time she used a special tool called a 'Digi-projector' to copy her movements in the digital world, creating an identical meal for Auriel. A good half-hour later, filled with small talk, Bishop's meal was in front of him, wine and all. As was a full meal transmitted to the SOUL. "Well? H-how is it?" < @WanderingJester (Loren Kelley) > Morain had been on her way back to her quarters when she got Veronica's message. She ran, and ran hard. Harder than she should. By the time she arrived, wounds had reopened, and she was dripping blood, out of breath with the room spinning about her. "L-Loren... LOREN!!!" She yelled, falling to her knees. It hurt to breathe, let alone yell like that. She had pushed her body to the brink, and the world began to blacken. Just before she fell into darkness, she yelled one last time "LLLLLLLLOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!" Then, she collapsed into a growing pool of blood. Her blood.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Yalei you deviant! You've stolen my first kiss! I'm soiled, unfit for marriage now! How could you!" He looked away bluching, using the most unconvincing schoolgirl impression since impressions were a thing.
< @Xanxas > She knew he was probably kidding, but she couldn't stop the hurt in her heart. "Am... am I not good enough for you?" Yalei asked, getting off from on top of him and leaning against the wall.
-Nate Bishop & Auriel- "Of course, Mr. Bishop! Coming right up! It's hard to keep things fresh, so I have this. as long as I only get ingredients, It's not cheating." Bishop rolled his eyes playfully. It was impressive enough that she got the equipment, he didn't need to have her run around the galaxy scouring for ingredients as well. Still he teased the girl a bit. "We'll see when we taste it I supposed." He crossed his arms, and the girl gulped nervously for a second before realizing he was teasing her. Kylei forgot her nervousness for a second and stuck her tongue out at Bishop, which he chuckled at. Auriel watched the scene in front of her with disapproval. After the cooking was done, the meal was placed in front of him. Auriel also had her meal in front of her, and begun to eat. However Bishop looked at Skye, not touching the food for the moment while she asked in general. "Well? H-how is it?" He stared at her, before replying. "Why don't you pull up another plate and glass and join me? We can judge it together." Auriel either ignoring the offer or unaware of the direction the conversation was going, replied between bites. "This is... good. Thank you." Bishop grinned at that. "That's high praise from her Kylei, if your digital meal is as good as your actual one then you shouldn't be nervous." -Loren Kelley and Veronica- "L-Loren... LOREN!!! LLLLLLLLOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!" Back in the control room, Veronica suddenly got a signal from Morain's biometrics. They weren't good. Within a moment she appeared next to her sister and screamed at the sights, but somehow had the sense to alert the nearest medical personnel with the highest emergency code. "No nonononono, sis stay strong. Help is on the way." Veronica stammered out, even as she kneel down next to Morain and tears rushed out of her eyes down her face. In the rider's chamber, Kelley was blissfully unaware of the situation happening to Morain, instead the simulation started up, and he found himself in space once more just outside the super carrier. 20 enemy FRAMEs appeared around Fate's Edge, including Ioren's latest model. Kelley grinned, however, he caught himself before he started attacking. Instead he set a chart of his own biometrics on the side of his heads up display, with a cap at the top of his already high tolerance level for all bars. Then he boosted towards the first FRAME, keeping one eye on the charts. The first enemy didn't even get to react as the whip sword came out and wrapped itself around its head, ripping it off completely and causing it to explode. Kelley gave a glance at the biometrics, they were rising fast. He spun around, taking a bit more time to be careful not only with his enemies but with his body. He forced his breathing to even and his heart rate to lower. The bars slowed, then stopped around the midpoint of his tolerance level. Suddenly two FRAMEs decided to team up on him coming around with swords and missiles (what a weird combination). He spun and dodged quickly, but feeling his pulse rise again. Kelley gritted his teeth and fought back, always keeping an eye on the limit of his health before making a move, trying to take the time calm down before engaging the next target. The system was pushing him with its speeding information feed, but he resisted, fighting and defeating one target at a time. After a few moments (definitely a lot longer than if he lost control), only Ioren's new FRAME remained. Kelley was able to charge when suddenly his eyes began to lose focus. The FRAME in front of him had turned into two FRAMEs, he shook his head, trying to improve his vision. It was no use. Instead the FRAME turned into the Lævateinn, with its signature weapons systems and distinctive colors. Kelley hesitated. "Who is the enemy?" He asked out loud, trying to discern a correct method of dealing with the situation. The Lævateinn activated Mortal Summer then charged him, closing the distance with every second. "Who is my enemy?" He asked again, and even as the FRAME began the swing he was confused, not giving into the instinct to rip Freya's FRAME apart. As the laser sword came down he made a decision and hit the comms button to the Lævateinn, screaming into it. "YOU'RE NOT MY ENEMY!" Suddenly the image of the Lævateinn switched back to Ioren's sword and shield FRAME in mid swing. Were this the Void Riptide, Kelley would not be able to avoid the blade with his reflexes, but the Fate's Edge had none of that problem. The pale grey FRAME twisted mid air as multiple thrusters appeared and blasted, causing the sword to miss by mere feet from it. Coming back around the green laser sword from the left hand stabbed into the side of the shield of Ioren's FRAME, in overcharge mode. This time it went clean through and into the torso beneath, exploding the FRAME. The simulation ended and Kelley took off his helmet. He touched his face with his rider's gauntlet and stared at his hands. No blood.
"Nah your great! Do you honestly think I would reject you. You would have to probably start doing things like playing jump rope in my chestcavity before I got pissed enough to have a serious talk with you about our relationship." She looked a bit concerned at this, but Seryu (tried) to put her at ease. "Don't worry. Even if something like that happened, he would be fine. He's the kinda guy who wont die from something as simple as being killed"
< @WanderingJester @Shadhunter (Nate Bishop) > When Bishop asked Kylei to eat with her, she panicked. "W-what!? No, no! T-the chef doesn't eat with the customers... butbutbut it's Mr.Bishop NO! It's not right..." And so it went, she was very obviously flustered and conflicted, talking to herself. < @WanderingJester (Loren Kelley) > A medical team messaged Veronica. they had arrived but were not allowed access. Meanwhile Morain's biometrics dipped even farther, far into the so-called 'danger zone'. She was in real danger of dying. If she didn't get stabilized soon... it was almost a certainty. {V-v-veron....ica... I'm...so...sorry... I couldn't...stop him... forgive...m...e...} < @Xanxas > Yalei looked up and studied Kyras' face. Slowly she crawled back over to him, put her hand behind his head and kissed him again. It was tender and passionate.... She truly loved him, he could feel it even as she pulled away and stared into his eyes. "I love you, Kyras. I am so very much in love with you." She said as she rested her head on his shoulder. Please... hold me. Hold me and don't let go. I will always be by your side. Always." She said dreamily, lovingly as she hugged him.
He smiled gently and leaned back, enjoying the feeling of warmth and love. They spent the party eating cake and gossiping about coworkers, making jokes and laughing at the absurdity of Kyras. It was just the three of them, and for Kyras it was possibly the Best Day Ever.
