This gave Dunni just enough time to replace the couplings. "Done! Kyras, get back to medical, make sure it worked!" < @WanderingJester @Andraina > Soon, The StarRunner jumped into action, shields blocking Railcannon shots and Guns blowing FRAMEs out of space. "This is Michelle Williams, Acting Gunnery Chief. We are back online! LAY DOWN THE BOOM, GUYS!" Roared a voice into comms. < @Andraina > This news came at a wonderful time as she was being beset upon by three Sword-wielding FRAMEs who were looking to get at Kelley's limp form. At least she didn't have to worry about her back being open.
Kyras bolted back, deeply worried about Dunni, but also about Yalei. Medical was undefended, and if someone got there while he was gone....
Freya watched on in shock at what was occurring, "Disable doesn't mean destroy." She said with a sigh, just knock him in the back of the head. Frankly she was going to use a similar concussive draw technique on the FRAME, but whatever, [Understood Veronica, We'll protect you two. Don't worry.] The words of the chief were music to her ears, "Glad to see someone finally out of bed Chief!" She said with a chuckle as Agalia alerted her. "Hmm They're serious now!" She took her stance and went to meet the three incoming frames sending a shot from her wrist cannon at the closest one to buy a few seconds. 3v1 wasn't going to be a lot of fun but this was the sort of exercise she really needed to reduce her stress by now.
< @Xanxas > Kyras' worst fear had been realized. A single Splinter Officer stood in the Medical Bay, standing over Yalei with a pistol pointed at her head. He seemed to have already blasted a few of the wounded UTC soldiers, as evidenced by the pile of corpses in the corner with bullet-holes in their foreheads. [C'mon, go crazy, give me some words!] < @Andraina > The FRAME that had been blasted by her Wrist Cannon stumbled back, leaving him open to attack. The other two charged, however, leaving her with a quandary. [ Either destroy the stunned and take a medium wound OR Attack one of the other two OR Attempt a Gambit ] < @WanderingJester > With Kelley out of commission, Veronica was able to get propulsion control, allowing her to return Fate's Edge to The StarRunner.
Safety, while 5 enemy craft were destroyed there was still 4 more after these Three. She couldn't allow herself to hope the Guns would get those, and right now she and Agalia weren't the only ones at risk. At least until Veronica was able to withdraw, and she'd confirm that, she'd fight carefully. Being in a FRAME was nice because it allowed someone to exceed certain expectations. For example here, with no momentum at all. She spin herself around the attack like a gate opening just as though her foot rose and conked him in the back of the head for light damage already ready to parry the incoming blade of the second one.
[Understood Veronica, We'll protect you two. Don't worry.] Veronica sighed and sent back one message. [Thank you Agalia, I owe you one.] Then she realized that she had control of the FRAME as the rider had been knocked out. Steadily and safely she flew the FRAME towards one of the emergency landing hangers on the Super Carrier. She also finally had control of comms, and sent out a message to control. "This is Veronica, the SOUL of..." She couldn't bring herself to say Fate's Edge, "Loren Kelley. I need immediate medical assistance please." To her relief a medical officer on duty replied on comms. "This is Dr. Enzio, I just got back from helping the wounded in the fighting on board, what's the situation with your rider?" "His biometrics are off the charts, he's knocked out right now but I'm afraid he's taken severe wounds." The good doctor nodded. "Get him to the emergency hanger 01, we'll have a team ready." The comms shut off and Veronica propelled the FRAME forward to EH 01. __________________________________ Loren Kelley laid on a stretcher as Dr. Enzio and his assistants worked on his wounds while examining him. Fate's Edge laid in the hanger beyond the next wall. Veronica looked on in terrified concern. "Several ribs broken, many fractures and broken bones along the limbs. Multiple hemorrhaging along the entire body in puncture wounds, and a minor aneurysm. The only silver lining is that his spine wasn't affected." Dr. Enzio concluded, before looking at Veronica, "What did this to him? The FRAME didn't look damaged at all, and neither did the rider's armor." Veronica bit her lip. "I think it was the compatibility system doctor, it-it went beyond the safe limits." She looked at the broken rider in front of her. "Is-is he going to live?" Dr. Enzio looked back at Kelley. "Normally, he should already be gone by now. I've seen people die of less than half the injuries this young man has taken. But something's very strange." Veronica watched him through tear soaked fingers covering her face. "His body's automatically fixing wounds as they're worsening, slowing their worsening conditions and in some cases even stopping the decline. Something won't let him die."
Kyras let out a scream of utter rage and jumped forwards, claws extended fully. He raked them across the poor fool, before sinking his teeth deep into his neck. He threw him to the ground before jamming both spurs into his neck long enough for the poison to accrue at levels capable of dropping an elephant. He forced his claws into knife like hands, and stabbed down again and again. He didn't die cleanly, or quietly.
< @Andraina > Her kick was effective, as was her parry. The FRAME behind her lunged for a pin while the other two charged from different directions, leaving opening in each of their guards. However, if she struck at one, there was a good chance the other two would hit. About this time Freya received a report that Kelley had been retrieved... she was the only one out now. [Might I suggest a Gambit? But do what you want.] < @WanderingJester @Xanxas > At that point, Veronica's Subroutine to watch Morain's vitals pinged her, something was wrong. Her pulse was dropping fast. If she went to go check, she would see a scene of utter carnage as Kyra's ripped apart the poor fool who had threatened Yalei. Screams went unheard , pleas went unheeded as blood sprayed everywhere, the man's intestines tangling themselves on Kyras' claws.
Veronica quickly disappeared then reappeared in the bloody medical bay next to Morain. Morain was still wearing her clothes! (though a bit ripped from where they had to cut to treat her) Veronica quickly check on and repair any machine that was supporting her sister, as well as throwing up a hardlight shield over her sister. She turned and saw what looked like a wild animal vaguely resembling another rider rampage on some poor soul's body. For once, Veronica didn't get scared, she got angry. She took a brief moment to switch one one of the medical robots to get it rolling past the shield to treat Morain before stomping over to Kyras (@Xanxas ). "WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? CAN'T YOU SEE MY SISTER NEEDS REST AND MEDICAL HELP???" She screamed right next to Kyras at his back, redirecting all of the speakers in the medical bay toward him and using them to amplify her voice at the crazed man.
Agalia called out, "Veronica and Kelley are safe!" Freya nodded, there were three enemies, Each coming at her from different angles. Three Dimensional space was fun. For example, if you really think about it, no matter how many angles three people came at someone in Space, there was always at least one direction that was open, usually that was the sky or the ground somewhere one couldn't travel. Freya decided to simply move to that position. She opened her thrusters at full to that position. "Agalia!" She called out ready for the moment the three would meet or be forced to change their paths hoping she'd get one of them at least. [Torneraid Mode release!] And again, Freya called on Mortal Summer's high function. The blade glowed again like a Rainbow as Freya Swung it. She'd be open afterwords but it created a short range wave of energy at least in the range of the three enemies.
