Freya studied the incoming Frame carefully. Perfect, a melee battle. She hadn't had one of those in real life yet. The name of the game was efficiency. That other FRAME, Fate's Edge. She had a bad feeling about it, so essentially this was going to be 11 v 1 until she could get more reinforcement. Igniting Mortal Summer she moved towards the enemy Styker using a low commitment downward slash to gauge their relative abilities.
< @Andraina > The Splinter must have thought she was an easy opponent, because he dashed around her attack, throwing all his might into a slash at her Chest.
"Wh-what is this? Loran... ugh!" Kelley pushed the blade further into the shield, closer and closer it reached toward the other FRAME's head. He saw the stab coming, even before Ioren thought to use the move. "This... Agh!" The stab came and Kelley grabbed the other arm as it stabbed awkwardly at him, and he didn't even bother with the laser cutter. Fate's Edge simply began crushing the arm under its grip, the metal in the other FRAME armor collapsing as the fingers of Fate's Edge tightened around it. Kelley shook his head and said in a monotone voice. "Target priority shifted, this enemy poses little threat to the objective at hand. Targeting alternate FRAME." With a flash of light on the right arm the whip sword deployed and straightened. In a single move, Fate's Edge let go of the arm, imprinted with indents where its finger was. Then the sword cut came around and severed the arm completely from the torso at the shoulder, before a front kick smashed into the torso of the FRAME, just beneath the rider's chamber. The kick was so hard it actually imploded the armor slightly, leaving a massive print on the torso as the FRAME was sent flying back into space. Kelley coughed up more blood, but didn't seem to notice. Veronica watched the scene in horror, and along with the charts of the rider biometrics, all the charts were well beyond the normal tolerance level now. She found her voice again and tapped into the audio piece of Kelley's rider armor. "Mr. Kelley! You're injured! We have to get you back on the Starrunner! Mr. Kelley!" She yelled, but got no response. She quickly checked the data and was stunned. The armor had locked her out of the audio and visual interface with the rider! Thinking quickly, she realized that the external comms channel were still opened. Desperately she sent out a message hoping her sister would get it but at this point any technomancer or SOUL who receive this message that could help would be useful. [This is Veronica, Loren Kelley's SOUL. Mr. Kelley has been injured but his armor locked me out of communications with him! Please if anyone receives this message, please convince him via comms to return to the carrier. He needs medical treatment!] Back in the rider's position, Kelley scanned the area of space once more. "Scanning for suitable targets."
Kyras got up, and looked around. Nothing seemed to really be working, and he had no idea what was going on. So he picked up his newly borrowed rifle and gun and started wandering the ship, stacking all the rifles, grenades, armor, and other generally useful stuff in the (hands?) and on the back of poor Fredrick.
Trying to take her by surprise. Naturally the Two arm blades made think of a boxer, it seemed that was indeed the case as her somewhat slow slash was side step into a High Commitment High Risk attacked. That would prove to be Fatal. Freya simply activated a short retro thrust to have the punching arm miss her and one proper swing of her blade severed it clean off. She was focused on the battle but... Agalia called back into the comm channel, she could speak well enough for her sister, [Veronica, this is Lævateinn, We're coming back for you! Try to hang on!] Freya grunted, a rouge FRAME. Talk was probably not going to be enough. Just as the ship was in crisis too, but this FRAME, would probably serve to be the highest priority enemy she had the feeling. "I want those specs now Agalia!" Her eyes trying to remain one the one limbless Styker before her." Agalia nodded, [StarRunner this is Lævateinn, We respectfully request Spec information on Loren Kelly's Frame please.]
[Veronica, this is Lævateinn,We're coming back for you! Try to hang on!] Veronica panicked, this was a bad situation turning worse. She quickly sent out another message directed at Agalia on the Lævateinn. [NO! Don't approach Fate's Edge, it's too dangerous! Mr. Kelley will continue fighting the other FRAMEs and troopers, but we just need to talk to him! He's still in control of the FRAME!] Was he? She looked at Kelley, but was assured when she heard him speak. "NO! Pull yourself together Kelley. The mission's at hand. I can handle this. Just can't push too hard..." He gritted his teeth and focused, forcing the urge to charge into the nearest target from consuming him again. If only Ioren didn't challenge him directly. The fool boy... Blood continued to flow down his face, dripping down to his torso now.
< @WanderingJester > {Ugh... Veron...ica...} Morain's voice was weak, her life slipping away. {Sending... Executive...Shutdown...Code... 6...8...6...4...3...7...2...0...1...9...} This code would send a shock directly to the rider, knocking him out. {Please... It's too much for him now...} < @Andraina > A quick punch again aimed at her chest... This rider was an obvious Rookie. < @Xanxas > Kyras eventually came to battle, Dunni pinned behind boxes in a warehouse by a large group of Splinter soldiers. "Kyras!" he yelled "I need some help! I can't fix the power couplings from here, and if I don't get to it soon, Yalei and Lieutenant Desero will die!"
That was all Freya needed to know before taking little effort to disarm the enemy once again and destroy his cockpit. There was no time for this. It would be bad if an ally launched unaware that there was a Rouge FRAME outside. Agalia had tapped herself into the chatter since the information didn't come right away, "Sister, Veronica received the shut down code. Recommend continuing the mission." Freya sighed, why was this deployment such a bloody disaster?! [Veronica, if that code doesn't work I WILL disable that frame be prepared.] She rubbed her forehead feeling a bit stressed, 10 (11?) enemy FRAMEs left. Styker FRAME destroyed
Kyras sprang into action, firing almost full auto due to having more than one gun, simply grabbing one, spending it, and leaving it for his minion to refill. There was no way he would fail here. Not now, not with these stakes.
{Ugh... Veron...ica... Sending... Executive...Shutdown...Code... 6...8...6...4...3...7...2...0...1...9...} Veronica nodded, but now more concerned than ever about both her sister and her rider. Meanwhile Kelley had seemed to pull himself together. Several of the bars were lowering on the biometrics. His breathing, though still heavy, was coming back down to regular. His heart rate too began to drop. So it was unfortunate that a group of riflemen came across Fate's Edge at that particular moment in time. The riflemen unit saw the lone UTC FRAME and thought it an easy target. They raised their weapons and all began to fire on Fate's Edge, hitting it on multiple parts but mostly on the torso of the FRAME. As they fired the leader of the unit began calling to his comrades in arms. "Nothing's happening! Why is that FRAME not taking any damage! Keep firing." And it was true, not a scratch was seen on the surface of Fate's Edge. But the rider inside was a completely different matter. Kelley spazzed in his armor as blows repeatedly land on his body. These weren't body blows from a professional boxer, these felt more like getting shot at close range while wearing bulletproof armor. Repeatedly. He felt as though his ribs were breaking and every organ inside of him smashing to pieces. After a while the riflemen stopped, and they looked through their shots at Fate's Edge. Indeed the FRAME looks untouched. However the rider inside began to chuckled then laugh. Veronica looked in horror and though she had the codes ready she couldn't move. "Targets aquired." Fate's Edge sped forward, flashing past the squad of Riflemen and impaling another FRAME clean through. Kelley then did a 90 degree term and charged straight at another two FRAMEs, cutting them both diagonally before noticing the Lævateinn. Meanwhile Veronica received a message from that very FRAME's SOUL herself. [Veronica, if that code doesn't work I WILL disable that frame be prepared.] She screamed back at the other FRAME's SOUL. [NO! YOU'LL KILL HIM, DON'T YOU GET IT!] But then Fate's Edge got ready to charge the Lævateinn. At this point all biometrics were in the red, leaving Veronica no choice. She input the code just as the rear main thrusters opened and began firing. An electric pulse, concentrated, shot straight from Kelley's pilot armor into his brain, making him unconscious immediately. His body went limp, even as blood continue to leak out of his orifices. The FRAME's forward momentum didn't accelerated and it began to drift right past Freya's FRAME, ragdoll like, towards the Starrunner. Veronica sent out a mayday to the carrier and one more message to the Lævateinn. [I'm sorry, please understand that this isn't Mr. Kelley's usual self. If I may ask a favor, try and lure the enemy away from us while you battle them. I don't know if Mr. Kelley can survive with more injuries right now.] OOC: RESULTS: 3 FRAMEs destroyed, Fate's Edge out of commission.
