@UnluckyFellow "Sounds good to me." he answered back, getting back onto Cyrus's shoulder, "wouldn't want you to get muscle cramps or anything on me. That'd just be embarrassing for the both of us if you did. " He chuckled and looked toward Cyrus. The Jedi he's only known for a short period of time, and yet it felt like he's known him forever. And he didn't really know how exactly. It took far longer to bond with Zuri like this. Admittingly, it took awhile to just have her open up too him, but even then it felt strange. Maybe it was the force influencing them, maybe it was just everything they've been through in such a short span of time, but he felt like he could trust Cyrus. And Cyrus believed in him. Maybe he should start doing that too. "Want to check up on my father, I want to see if he wants to come along. Maybe he'd want to meditate with us...or just have the excuse to take a nap in the middle of it." he said with laugh and a warm smile. "Regardless though, would like to check up on the old furball. I have a mission to bring him back home after all."
@GobMaw_HellSmasha Cyrus nodded. "Sure, he'll probably be bored out of his mind but he's welcome to join us." The rest of the walk back to the hotel was uneventful if not quite loud, the city had started to wake up now so thousands of people flooded the streets going about their own business. They made a short stop in Cyrus' room to drop off the heavy pack of books before they went to go pester Minlan. He just swiped the card for the door and figured he'd let Nex do the offering.
@UnluckyFellow On their way back into the hotel Nex's ears rose up. There it was again. That voice he could have swore was Zuri's. He was going to dismiss it as him hearing things again, but this time he also heard a separate voice. It was Kass's voice, and he thought he heard him conversing with the voice of Zuri. Either he really was losing his mind or... He shook his head again, trying to clear his mind. He didn't want to bring his hopes up only to have them crushed again. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to handle another crushing moment like that so soon. He didn't want to end up dissapointed, not when the day was going so well so far. So he didn't bring any attention to himself and quietly let Cyrus bring the books to his room. "Can we take the cook book with us? If anything it'd give him something to read if he doesn't want to join in on our meditation session." @Uriel1339 As the door opened he called out to the room. "Hey Dad!" he shouted out, hopefully loud enough to get his father's attention, "Cyrus and I are going to do some training and meditations, you wanna come along?! Brought you a book to keep yourself occupied if you want too!...Or I could just bring your pillow and you could 'meditate' with us."
@GobMaw_HellSmasha & @UnluckyFellow "Sure, I don't see why not. And don't you worry, I know how to sit still and just don't do anything. Also... I was never much of a type for meditation." The older man shrugged. "So I probably will gladly take the offer up on the book, it's a lovely thought. Makes me at least feel not being a nuisance to your training, mh?" Minlan smiled and hopped off the bed-chair, approaching his own flesh and blood. "So, where you going to do that? Again in the gardens or did you find this time some sort of training halls here? I am sure with Ithor being this peaceful, they might at least train self-defense somewhere. Even the guardians of the galaxy, the jedi, learned how to fight after all." Spoiler: OOC: Oh look after god-knows how many pages the GM is finally again needed.... Lolz.
@Uriel1339 @UnluckyFellow "Dad you can never be a nuisance too me." he said with a happy smile, "if anything, having you there helps me. Just knowing you're there to support me when I need it is a reassuring thought." Though his dad did have a good point. Certainly Ithor is a place with some sort of formal training grounds for them. Should they go to such an area for their training? Thinking on the idea he wasn't so sure himself. A public dojo would probably garter too much attention. Possibly unwanted attention if their current luck with having trouble find them every day was anything to go off of. He'd rather keep his training for those they invite, or friends of theirs whose presence won't bother them. He'd rather keep it to a place private to them, or atleast away from prying eyes. "I don't know, Cyrus..." He said, looking back to his mentor whose shoulder he was currently perched on. "Any plans of that nature? I don't mind really where we go, as long as our training doesn't get interrupted." Spoiler: OOC Figured you'd be happy that the RP has solid enough character interactions to go on without needing GM intervention every moment
@GobMaw_HellSmasha Cyrus shrugged. "I don't see the point in going a greater distance to a place that will be more crowded just to meditate. Absolutely nothing wrong with the gardens." He took his sweet time walking out and finding a decent place to sit that wouldn't disturb anyone else that wished to enjoy the gardens. "Alright so, we're going to work on your focus today. We both quite well know that you've got all the power behind your Force abilities than you could ever need. Now you just need the practice to control it while not in an...undesirable emotional state." The jedi crossed his legs and closed his eyes. "Today you're simply going to focus on levitating me no more than a foot off the ground and I am going to do the same. This way we'll both be getting practice and it will teach you to concentrate while a distraction is present, in this case that would be you floating. Whenever you're ready, begin."
@UnluckyFellow The idea of being levitated off the ground seemed odd to him. He wasn't exactly sure how it'd feel, to just float there in the air. He rationalized it as potentially feeling like being in the middle of a really high jump, just with a lot more air time in between the jump and landing. Another thought that propped up was how exactly it'd feel to have the force lift you in the air. Would it hurt? Would it tickle? Would it feel like nothing at all? Guess there was only one to find out. He looked at Cyrus and mimicked how he sat and nodded to Cyrus. He gave himself a moment to breathe, before reflecting how Cyrus sat in front of him. He glanced over briefly toward his father, who was currently perusing through the pages of the cook book. Maybe he should have been a bit more specific on what type of book he brought him. Or maybe they should take his dad to the book store after training and get him something he'd really want to read. He couldn't help but smile at him before turning back to Cyrus and closing his eyes. He took a deep breath. "Alright, I'm ready." he answered as he began to focus his efforts to keeping calm and focusing on the training at hand.
@GobMaw_HellSmasha Cyrus simply reached out through the Force and slowly brought Nex a bit off the ground. The only thing he'd probably feel would be the sudden lack of anything solid underneath him. "Remember, the only difference between moving a person and moving a Star Destroyer is the amount of space you have to manipulate. You've crumpled durasteel like cloth but now you'll demonstrate control. There is no trick, do not overthink it, simply know you can do it and you shall."
@UnluckyFellow So this is why Cyrus didn't want him to start doubting himself. Not only because it led too fear, but also made it impossible to utilize the force. As he felt himself being lifted in the air he couldn't help but twitch a bit. Eventually convincing himself that it was simply a very long jump. But after a few brief moments of nervousness he was able to successfully calm himself down. Cyrus mentioning him disposing of Bossk's blaster as he did put him a little bit on edge. It wasn't that he didn't know by now that he could do something like lift Cyrus up in the air. Afterall, Bossk was his ragdoll during that whole ordeal. But he did so while being incredibly angered and filled with the need for vengeance. He was able to hurt Bossk not because he knew he can, but because he wanted too. Because he deserved it. But he felt like he was losing himself as he did so. He didn't want that to happen again. He didn't want too rely on those feelings to be able to control the force. But he didn't know if he... Yes. Yes he can. Even if he doubted himself, even if he didn't know what to believe in regards to him and his abilities, Cyrus believed in him. And he trusted Cyrus and believed in him in return. And so he took in a breath and slowly exhaled, going through the breathing exercises that they went through back on the Phoenix. The ones he was taught too calm himself, the ones he was told would help in clearing his mind of doubts and worry. He wasn't worried anymore. He didn't need to think so much as Cyrus informed him, so he stopped thinking. He gave his mind-a mind that seemed to have a thousand ideas, outcomes, future scenarios, worries, emotional strife going through it constantly- a break. At this moment there was nothing else but the task on hand. He can do it, he knew he can. There was no room for doubt. His mind was closed off from his doubts at this moment. His constantly active mind slowed itself at this time. His eyes were closed, but he didn't need to see to know if he did it or not, because he knows he can. He stopped thinking about it, and just let it happen.
Minlan sat on a bench nearby, watching the one and a half jedi do their stuff. Levitating-Meditation was the lesson of the day. He never liked it, found it weird. But he also knew it was important in order to find balance within one self, so he simply shrugged and watched the two youngsters, the book closed and sitting on his lap. It was strange to see the whole jedi-training unfold on his own son. Especially given how surprisingly supportive he was of it, when in reality all those years he tried so hard that NexNip would never ever find out about the potential he had. Ladies fate and destiny were cruel ladies born out of and for irony.
