Cyrus was looking through a few the Ithorian had brought out. "Alright I'll take Battles of the Clones Wars and The Maw of Madness but 600 for both is way too much, how about 300?" He leaned against the counter. One of the bad things about rare is that rare usually meant valuable. He listened for a moment as the Ithorian made up some garbage about how it was one of the last in existence or something. "Fine fine, 450 it is then." He'd just settled that deal as Nex tugged at his robe.

The Jedi accepted the book from Nex and flipped it over to read the cover. "Heh, well I wasn't expecting that." He laid the book on their ever-larger growing pile. "...but sure, how could I say no to that face?" The adorable levels Kushiban could reach would surely be the death of him. "Guess it is about lunch time anyway. "

He swiped the credstick they'd brought and started loading the books into his pack, leaning down so Nex could jump back on his shoulder. "Any place in particular?"

Nex lept up to Cyrus's shoulder and got himself situated on it. He looked to his master with a satisfied grin. Happy with the fact that Cyrus decided on taking the cook book for him. On the question of anywhere to eat he realized that not many options came to mind. Mainly because he didn't know what places Ithor had. And he didn't know about any place on Ithor that had a vegetarian option for species like him that couldn't eat meat.

"Not really" he admitted a loud, "some place that keeps vegetarians in mind would be my say. Oh if they serve berries or one of those really sweet fruit blends, that'd be nice."

Nexnip was enjoying his time to bond with his Jedi mentor. He felt at ease in what felt like forever. Which was rather odd considering how long he knew Cyrus for. It's was only admittingly a short amount of time since they met each other, and yet he felt a connection to his master. Nex was pretty certain it wasn't just some force thing either. Cyrus was just a genuinely good and kind-hearted man, he would have been able to see that without any force helping him. He was glad to be able to call him his master. As awkward as actually saying it might be.

"Whatever you think might be best for the both of us, master. I trust you would find someplace we can both enjoy..." he paused a bit and turned away briefly, "even if your judgement isn't entirely sound all the time...I'm kidding, I'm kidding... Well mostly."

Blinking in disbelief with eyes growing ever so slightly wider, the Chiss clearly noticed the similarity to her own life's goal, but chose not to comment on it directly. The sheer idea that he could be lying didn't even occur to her - why would he, after all? - and folding her hands in front of her, elbows on the table despite manners prohibiting that, Zuri looked back at Kass. "You should start saving now, such paradisical plots of land are fairly costly in upfront and maintenance terms", she said, having learned all this very early on. "And providing for an animal haven and keeping out poachers is a difficult thing, as well. Plus, from what I heard, the lovelier a woman, the bigger her price tag." She released her hands. "At... least that's what this dreadful Zeltron told me. I try to avoid getting entangled into sentient trade."

Cyrus heft the now rather heavy pack and exited the small store. They started to walk back towards the hotel but took a turn about half way there. "Well I'm going to be a bit selfish then. We're going back to the Resting Bantha so I can enjoy my stew without having to deal with small time gangers or droids. The also have a cold drink called a smoothie that's made with berries, you'll probably quite like that."

The diner was much closer to the bookstore than it was to the hotel. The place had been cleared up since the other day, although Cyrus could still make out the scorch marks on the bar from where the gangers had shot their serving droid. He took a seat in a booth closer to the door this time and ordered once the new serving droid came. "So I was thinking that today we'd add a bit of meditation our training after saber practice."

"Meditation..." he said, taking his seat and looking toward Cyrus, "yeah...Yeah, I think that's a good plan."

The last time the two of the meditated was back when the Blazing Phoenix was only blazing in name. He found those sessions rather calming in actuality. He wasn't sure if he was doing any of it right looking back on it, but he liked it nonetheless. He was just hoping it'd be more relaxing then everything else that has happened on Ithor. Anything that could avoid having one of them stay overnight in a hospital was perhaps one of the best ideas they could have.

"So...smoothie you say...hmm seems like it could work for me..." he paused a bit, just now registering what the Jedi said previously. He looked to Cyrus with a blank stare.

"Seriously? This is the place that was shot up two days ago? And we're going back to it?!" he gave Cyrus a look of dismay, "that's the best idea you came up with? Really? You know I was joking earlier about your judgement not being entirely sound...but when you go off and decide to do things like walk into the place you guys shot a few gangers in recently, can you really blame me for saying that?"

He looked around the room nervously, not sure exacty what he was looking for. Mainly looking to see if anyone was eyeing them upon their entry into the establishment. This seemed like a terrible idea. He wasn't sure if Cyrus was all to familiar with how gangsters and lawless types like them operate. But if you don't cut off the head of the snake, it'll continue to try to bite you. They're not ones to take someone interrupting their 'business' lightly. Eventually he gave up and looked at Cyrus with a defeated look.

"Hope this stew thing is to die for Cyrus. Because...well, I'm not even going to finish that sentence." he said looking down and shaking his head lightly, side to side, "let's just be careful here. And hope there isn't any more of that gang around here. I'd like to go a day without blaster fire and explosions for once."

"A couple things. Yes the stew is that good and that's why we're sitting so close to the entrance. If the gangers come back and we'll be jumping straight to negotiation via lightsaber." The jedi couldn't help but smile when the little serving droid floated out with their orders. He started to dig into the stew like he hadn't eaten in weeks. Considering their diet really consisted of little more than bugs, Rynock somehow still managed to be one of the tastiest things that was reasonably affordable. "You know I've been thinking." Chomp. "About something you said earlier." Chomp. "For whatever reason, it seemed we've got an unusually strong Force Bond in almost no time flat. I think it had something to do with the presence of the Sith lord. It's just weird though, it was years berfore my master and I were at this point."

He took a few more bites after making his point. "You wanna try some?"
  7. @UnluckyFellow

"Oh sure, let me try some, if you really want to rush me to the hospital that badly. I'm sure the nurse would yell your ear off if you did that." he said flatly, not entirely amused with the Jedi's nonchalance with aggressive negotiations, "Herbivore over here, Cyrus. Did you forget that already? I can't eat that stuff...I don't really want too either...I'm not exactly keen on the idea of killing something to eat it anyway...I hope you could understand why. Why'd you think I wanted that cook book specifically?...also would you stop talking with your mouth full, I don't need to see any of that."

He took a sip of the smoothie. His eyes widened in surprise and a little grin came with it. It was actually rather nice. Taking a satisfied breath after taking a drink of the deliciously sweet smoothie he looked back up to Cyrus quizzically. He knew very little, if anything about how Jedi and the force worked. So after Cyrus brought up his own confusion on their supposed connection between them he didn't know what too say. He shrugged and cocked his head to the side, and if that wasn't enough to convey his own bewhilderment his fur changed color as well.

"Is that not usually a thing with Jedi?" he asked, conveying his confusion of the topic, "I just figured that was just a common occurrence between force using people... Uhh... Well my dad always said I was able to make friends easily, would it have anything too do with that? Is that what that bond stuff is like? Making friends and stuff... You...consider us to be friends at least right?"

Cyrus mock pouted a bit. "Calm down there, I was just poking a bit of fun...sorry." He made a mental note to try and make it a bit more clear when he wasn't being serious. Seemed to him that Kushiban couldn't hold a particular mood nearly as long as humans could...that was certainly going to take some getting used to.

"Well the way I understand it is that Force bonds tend to just develop over time as a consequence of two force sensitives spending a lot of time around each other. Basically not much different from the way any other sort of relationship develops." He shrugged. "Maybe it's just that some being are more compatible with others, no one knows every little way the Force works. I'd still bet my last credit that Onii being there had something to do with it."

"Either way I'll do some digging on it when we get back to the temple, there may be something on it in the holocrons." Cyrus tilted his head slightly at what he thought was an odd question. "Of course we're friends, Nex. What prompted that all of a sudden?"
  9. @UnluckyFellow

"I just...wanted to make sure..." he said hesitantly, looking away briefly, "it's just...nice to hear sometimes you know?"

He went back to sipping on his smoothie absentmindedly. Trying to take his mind off another person he called a friend. Another person that told him, that he was her friend. Someone that left him to deal with a murderous Sith Lord bent on revenge against his whole family, his whole life, on his own. Another person he considered to be a partner and a confidant. He tried to focus so hard on other things that he didn't notice he nearly finished the whole smoothie and began sipping on the bottom of the glass. He stopped after a few seconds of sipping on air as he looked down at the finished smoothie of his. He audibly sighed and looked back to Cyrus.

"I want to think that this bond of ours or...whatever the kriff it is, has nothing to do with that demon, that monstrous Sith. It's just...something else...I don't know. Maybe it's the force guiding us, you did say it connects to all living things right? Maybe...some connections are...stronger then others or... They strengthen faster or... Just don't let it be him. Don't let Onii be the reason for this. I don't want to be his puppet...I don't want to become what he is..."

Cyrus pushes the rest of his smoothie across the table to Nex, the little guy looked like he could really use it right about now. "That wasn't what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines that it may have been s kind of defense mechanism. He posed such a threat that either of us alone wouldn't have stood a chance. So maybe we both instinctively reached out. I mean, just look at how well you could actually control your Force abilities just being near me."

"Hey, even if you did turn...it wouldn't be the end of the world. No one is beyond redemption alright?"
