Cyrus had gone to bed stuffed and tipsy the previous night. The soup actually turned out to be his favorite part of the meal, he'd have to remember to get the name of the root it was made from so he could try his hand at making it one of these days. It was already quite bright outside when he finally woke up, finding himself buried under all of the pillows like a nest for some reason.

After a quick wash to wake up, Cyrus headed out towards the gardens and saw Nex sauntering back looking worn out. He reached down at pet the Kushiban as he passed. "Good, I just hope you didn't neglect Form I." The Jedi said, continuing to walk down the hallway. Thankfully it was late enough in the morning that he found the garden deserted yet again.

The prospect of dealing with months of constant exhaustion from Form IV training wasn't something he was looking forward to. Most of it was thankfully going to be done through mediation, the movements weren't the problem, it was simply training his body to deal with the stress of Force Valor more efficiently. He just hoped Master Skywalker would be able to give them some advice before they left the temple.

Cyrus tossed down the small datapad again and spent the better part of the next hour going though Soresu's minor and major orbits, quite satisfied with the fact he was able to complete that time without taking a rest. The hologram finally vanished as he started looking for some appropriate music for mediation. Once some had been located, Cyrus sat with legs crossed on the grass while concentrating on levitating his lightsaber at roughly head height until he was either too tired to continue or something interrupted him.

"Wasn't really training in all honesty, Cyrus" he said as Cyrus gave him a pat, "just...trying a few things. I'll get to my actual training after a nap."

Maybe he was getting ahead of himself. Maybe he should just accept facts and take his time. There was no point in rushing through the basics. Especially since the basics confused him enough as it was. If he wanted to be able to save his family from the Sith's wrath then he needed to train properly. He needed to focus to his studies and training before doing anything too crazy. It was the only option he had.

He walked back to his room and gave himself a quick wash with a wash cloth. He brushed his fur and made sure he no longer felt dirty or sweaty. Such a feeling made it impossible for him to get some sleep. After freshening up he walked back to the couch his father and him have been using as their bed. And sure enough, his father was still sleeping. He never needed to leave that note afterall it seemed. He tiredly yawned and got himself situated on a cushion across from his dad -there was no need to disturb the old man's sleep- and laid down. After a few minutes he drifted off to sleep.

    Yesterday
...but the Chiss knew better, and eventually decided to just rent a cheap room for one night, certain that she would only distrub her former allies' well-deserved rest. Letting herself fall into the soft bed, her eyes soon fell shut.

    Today
Well-rested, and not quite as ready for the confrontation as she would've liked, Zuri got dressed, and immediately moved to check out of her room, stalking through the halls of the Hotel afterwards to find the voices of this ragtag group of Republic operatives that she belonged to. Eventually, motivated by the size of the complex, she decided to visit what was technically 'her' room - knowing that it was the place where two of the people closest to her were likely to rest.

Now actually opening the door, Zuri looked inside with uncharacteristic sheepishness before actually moving, and stared at the sleeping lapine afterward.

"Well, all I know is that the circumstances of your birth don't necessarily determine what you are," the spacer said, his eyes drifting off as he seemed to reminiscence. "But hey, if you're dealt the bad cards, sometimes all you can do is play the game to its end. Sometimes it's more about how much you lose with, than winning."

The spacer kept to himself for the rest of the day, after Kai left.

    Today - @Casavay

When the door opened, Kass didn't believe his eyes. Too afraid to take Zuri's return as a sign, the spacer simply said: "They're pretty cute when they sleep, huh?" He was sitting on his bed, reclined against the wall, and watched the bounty hunter carefully.

Zuri flinched unelegantly, not having spotted the Nagai businessman until he had made his presence known. Turning her gaze from the little bunny-sorcerer to Kass, she hesitated before nodding. "Yes", she whispered back, carefully stepping over to her own bed to sit down upon it. For all her 'changes' brought upon by her epiphany, she still preferred to stare at the wall rather than Kass' face when talking to him. "I can see how NexNip became a pet."

"Even... if I hadn't known his story", she then clarified, shrugging slightly and taking off her jacket - the heating was more than sufficient.

"Nice outfit," he remarked, keen blue eyes fixing on the jacket, then the actual Chiss. "How's your zabrak friend doing? Did you do whatever you were gonna do?" he asked, sitting up straight in the bed, and then hunching forwards, crossing his arms and touching his elbows to his knees while he peered at her. The supposed Nagai was giving off an air of nonchalance, but anyone who could truly read people could've seen there was a lot of tension in him. He fidgeted.

"I've got a feeling you don't leave anything unfinished, though. So I'm guessing congratulations are in order? And, well... welcome back."

Kass' compliment made the Chiss blush, a tinge of purple on her cheeks. The blush remained even as her mood took a darker turn for the moment she assumed that he would question her about this mission...

But thankfully, he did not. Zuri breathed an audible sigh of relief after he welcomed her back, and smiled slightly, unable to deny how good it felt that at least one person would welcome her back. "Thank you", she told the wall, "I... wasn't sure if coming back was a good idea. But I decided to, after my work was done. It felt right. And I hope you think it is not a bad thing, either." As with so many things right now, Zuri wasn't sure who she was referring to by 'you' - the group as a whole, or Kass specifically.

Kass noted the smile and found himself caught in a limbo between catching himself in being about to say something very cliche, and the strong desire to say exactly those cliche words, but he opted against it and resolved to moderate his answer, anyway. "Well, you'll find no complaints with me. I was worried I wouldn't see you again," Kass said, and immediately cursed himself inwardly. You idiot, I thought we agreed on not being cliche, he thought dully to himself. Having actually gone so far as to spit it out, the spacer decided there was nothing better to do but to stick to the course. "... So no, not a bad thing at all," he finished lamely.

With a fair bit of willpower, and even more self-admitting, Zuri turned her head to Kass, and nodded, showing him her smile directly and consciously. "...thanks, Ka... Thanks, Rondo..." She hadn't forgotten his declaration of love some 24 hours ago. And admittedly, she still wasn't sure if he had been sincere, and scolded herself for being so open. But even with the little rodent between the two of them, reminding her of... the sorcerer she'd killed, Zuri could not help but feel somewhat fluttery, in a positive way. "I want to inform you... out of all the people here... you and NexNip... You two are the people I feared being despised by the most."

    @Casavay

"I'd never despise you," the spacer said so quickly it could only be heartfelt. The look in his eyes was almost pleading to make her believe him. "Nothing you could do could make me despise you, Zuri," he added, sounding almost indignant. He paused. He was reminded of a conversation he'd had with Kai just the day before, and he was inspired. "We all do things, don't we? Good things, bad, and who doesn't? If there's any creature that only acts in perfection, then it has a monopoly any businessman I know would be enormously jealous of. Sometimes good people do despicable things, and sometimes despicable people do good things. We're not droids with a programming and our parts set in stone, you know? We grow and change, for better and worse... and if you think you've done something despicable," he paused now, brilliant blue eyes fixing on the red orbs, as if trying to pry open that alien mind. "... then maybe we can figure it out together."
