@UnluckyFellow "Oh Cyrus! I forgot to ask you last night. I was going too and then...well yeah..." he said trailing off, his mood and demeanor having improved from the revelation at the hospital. It still stung that Zuri left without even saying goodbye. But he's accepted it as just the guild way of doing things. "Did you get a chance to talk to your brothers? I know you mentioned wanting to contact them back on the Slave IV. But I don't think you ever mentioned anything about them." Nexnip made it a conscious objective of his to stay away from any topic involving Cyrus's hand at the moment. He didn't want Cyrus to get self conscious about it himself. It didn't change who Cyrus was as person, and that's what mattered to him. Besides Kai has a whole arm that's cybernetic, and he's still a good person at heart.
Cyrus started going through the various movements for his Form I cuts, still sitting in the chair. Nothing fancy but the sooner he felt confident that the new hand wouldn't let him down in a fight the better. Even if it did feel weird, the hilt felt quite good already and considering he'd just woken up was a very good sign indeed. He beamed. "Second thing I did when we got here, right after calling the Temple for a pickup. Four hour holocall I think it was." @GobMaw_HellSmasha
@UnluckyFellow Nex's ears perked up, as did his spirits. Hearing that Cyrus was able to get in touch with his family made him feel happy for his Master. What he would do to just be able to contact his family again. Let them know his father and him were alright. One of the problems with living on a planet where the most advanced form of technology was a torch. The wonderful simple life of Kushibah had its downsides when it came to matters like this. But he wouldn't change anything about his home planet in the slightest. Except maybe get rid of the Xinkra. "That's great!" he said with a smile, his focus completely on Cyrus at the moment, "so what did you guys talk about? Did you mention anything vital or just talked to them and played catch up? I'd like to meet them one day, but I'm afraid that Onii might...never mind that. Onii doesn't exist right now. How are they doing? Are they doing alright?"
Cyrus shook his head. "Well I'll tell them kind of very general things but that's about it. They know it's dangerous, no point in making them worry any more than they already do." He coughed a bit while trying to choke down the awful tea. "They're doing just fine. The chief complaint this time was that they couldn't play with some of their friends as much. Apparently the group of Selonians we share the property with gave birth to two male pups this year. Males are something like one in a hundred so naturally there's been a lot of feasting." @GobMaw_HellSmasha
@UnluckyFellow "Selonian...those are the people you mentioned were the closest thing to Kushiban you've ever encountered before right?" Nex's tea was probably cold at this point, it didn't bother him, he hasn't even sipped it once throughout the entire conversation. "But we don't have the whole, one in one hundred males issue they seem to have. The genders are pretty evenly split. Thank the force for that. I already have enough to worry about then having to dread the idea of my entire species dieing out because we're unable to breed." He made the mistake of sipping his tea. He had no outward expression besides his fur changing color to express his distaste at this moment. He placed the cup back down gently and continued on. "I wish my chief complaint could be 'I haven't been able to hang out with my friends very often.' Maybe I should tell your brothers that everything I hold near and dear to me is at risk of being destroyed by a demon with a blood feud against my mother. That should get them to appreciate what they've got going for them. Kriff, I can tell them I haven't been able to see my friends and family in fourteen years. Maybe they'll run off to hug their mom after I tell them that." He said what he said with a chuckle and a playful tone, but everything he spoke was the truth. A truth he still had a hard time dealing with himself. "Did you even mention to them about any of us? I'm sure they'd be curious with exactly who you're traveling with all this time."
Cyrus chortled. "Hey now, no need to go scaring the brats. We fight so they don't have to after all. But yes, Selonians were the things closest to Kushiban I've seen. It isn't like their species is in danger of dying out either, you have one den mother that gives birth to many pups every year. Most of those are female and infertile. Having more males around helps secure the future of the nest against accidental deaths and whatnot." He finally set his tea aside, not really able to stomach much more of it. "Of course I mentioned the lot of you, and in true motherly fashion she has invited everyone to dinner whenever we're in the area. Also my brothers don't think you can really talk." @GobMaw_HellSmasha
@UnluckyFellow "Really now?" he said, an eyebrow raised as he looked at Cyrus. He drank the tea again. He wasn't sure why he did it. But he did. He really needed to not to do that again. His fur changed color yet again to display his distaste once more. "Well I accept your mother's invitation. I think it'd be great to get to meet them personally. Hope she's not expecting you back home right away. Who knows where we'd be next. As much as an impact that Ithor has had on our group...it's still technically just a stop. And if you all don't mind, I want to enjoy the calm before the storm while I still can. I've had enough bad times on this planet to last me for quite awhile." "You told them I can talk though, right?" he said, a little confused at the statement previously, "or did you want to surprise them with that?" He couldn't help but smirk at Cyrus. He didn't think that the Jedi would go out tell his brother's about him. He wasn't sure why his brothers wouldn't be able to believe he can talk. But he was more then willing to prove them wrong. "So do your brothers think you've just gone nuts now and that you've taken somebody's pet to be your apprentice? Because if you wanna go that angle with them, I'll play along if you want me too."
"Don't be silly, of course I told them you could talk. The pet as an apprentice angle sounds like a damn good time to me, that'll learn 'em for doubting me." He chuckled. "But no, of course they weren't expecting me home any time soon....though with a fighter and a class 1 hyperdrive it'd only be a 2 day trip from the Outer Rim." His head bobbed side to side a bit, as if weighing a few options. "Well I probably should be resting...but rest is for the dead. So what do you say we go get some food and get you some proper training time?" @GobMaw_HellSmasha
@UnluckyFellow Kai sat listening to the others again silently resting and thing about what to do and wondering if Zuri was alright. As he heard Cyrus offering up training he decided it maybe useful in the future to get to know something about close combat. he did have at least a vibro dagger to use in combat. "Hey Cyrus mind if I am able to join you in your training Think would it be any useful to learn any techniques on how Jedi fight in close combat?
@UnluckyFellow @Uriel1339 His eyes widened for a second at the mention of training from Cyrus. It was probably a good idea in the long run of things. Though he wasn't sure if they'd find a proper spot to train in peace. Ithor wasn't exactly devoid of people and the potential of bystanders was more of a certainty then a possibility. But he needed this training. The more he could learn, the more he can be in better control of himself, the better it'll be for him when the moment comes and he needs to call upon the force yet again to aid him. "Sounds good too me." he said, stopping himself this time from drinking the tea, he got so close, but this time he remembered. He looked toward his dad, expecting the older Kushiban to come along as moral support if anything. "Wanna come along too dad? I think it might help having you there to remind me what I'm doing all of this for. It might help me when I need support the most."
