"I'm not too fond of seafood, really," Kass admitted. "Though you do have a point. Have you ever been to Zeltros, or Nar Shaddaa? Those places have everything, and I mean literally everything," he explained, emphasising the last word by drawing a big globe with his hand. "One's entertainment, one's vice, and they're both mustering points for the largest parties in the galaxy. Not so much high society stuff on Nar Shaddaa, though."

"Nar Shaddaa. Zeltros, not really." She was still visibly enjoying the flickering neon signs, something that did not exist back home and a change from the hostile scum worlds she spent so much time on. These signs were still attempting to bereave her of all her money, but they seemed less predatory, less likely to be a front for thugs that wanted to kill them and steal their faces or some other horribleness. "I... did not like Nar Shaddaa. I don't like the Y'Toub system at all. Full of sickness, dishonesty and flexible morals. Full of people I do not want to be around unless it is to shoot them." She paused, reevaluating her statement considering her company.

"I, er, have met a Zeltron once, however. It was not to my liking, either."

Despite fact he didn't agree at all with what Nexnip's father had said, the rant had still entirely soured any hope of having a nice meal. Cyrus sat in silence and devoured whatever his pasta and mystery meat were like they'd just been tossed into the pull of a black hole. It was probably for the best that everyone seemed to be leaving the table, the Jedi was a bit too ticked off at the moment to really hold a civilized conversation. By the time their scotch had arrived he had finished his meal, electing simply to take it back to his room and enjoy the quiet...he sincerely hoped the Jawa had quieted down by now. He made sure to wake EG when he left, at the very least he'd have some new saber forms to study.

When the two made it back to the room, he gave Urian a pat on the dome for making sure that Vala hadn't made a mess of the place and fetched a simple datapad from his belongings for EG to download the saber form data onto. Meanwhile, he grabbed a smaller datapad and the bottle of scotch before making his way to the bathroom. Cyrus hadn't been afforded the luxury of a bath for quite a few days and imagined he was beginning to smell a bit like burning metal. After today he definitely needed one. Thankfully he was able to sit for a few good hours with nothing but his booze and his music.

It wasn't really anything special but after he'd left Talus, Cyrus found himself turning to old folk songs and the like during downtime between missions or late at night on long spaceflights when he'd been unable to sleep. Mediation was good in its own way but this was the perfect way he'd figured out to simply reboot everything. A few hours later he managed to stumble out of the bathroom in his nightwear, about half a liter short on scotch and just barely made it to bed before passing out.

"Well, I don't like Nar Shaddaa much, either," Kass hastily added. "And Zeltron are fickle creatures - some are gonna be the most caring and lovely people you ever met, others are gonna be self-indulgent sickos with a twisted sense of wonder, but Nar Shaddaa doesn't hide its sickness," he said, shrugging. "I was just wondering, since we were talking about losing money - it's not really my thing, either."

He glanced to her, studying her face for a moment. "Don't have many neon signs where you come from, or what?"

"Nobody likes losing money, I think", Zuri offered, "But on the other hand, some things are worth spending on."

For a moment, she looked at Kass, and then past him, to other, less flashy stands and stores, shopkeepers and service providers. "On Rhigar, there are no flashy neon lights. It is a military academy surrounded by bunkers and encased in an everlasting shell of ice. And we people of the Ascendacy do not care much for luxury." The Chiss paused, thinking for a moment, and looking back at her companion. "Afterwards, work never took me to pleasant places like this. What does a bounty hunter want on Ithor?" She let out a short, dark laugh, a laugh filled with the very same bitterness she thought he'd exorcised her from. "This is artificial, but beautiful. On worlds like Hutta, Nar Shaddaa... all the others, it's dark. Wrong. Fake. They take pride in their corruption, and I cannot enjoy their lights..."

"But I like these lights. They seem... nice."
  6. Green Jewel - Room 2 - Na'tala
Slipping into the room she'd been assigned to, having eaten her fill and had more than enough alcohol, Na'tala just flopped onto the bed that she'd claimed earlier. Languidly wriggling out of her bodyglove Na'tala went through her nightly stretches, although being drunk made her a bit more risque in her movements, before bonelessly laying atop the bedcovers. Within minutes the Twi'lek was asleep, a quiet snore beginning to develop.

"Call me superficial, but I like 'em, too. I like this kind of life. You know, if it weren't for the fact that I had a price on my head and that I was entangled in a glorious quest to defeat the big, evil sorcerer, I'd be a very happy man right now," he said, looking back to the Chiss. "Growing up, I didn't have any of this. I was born into the lowest of the low, and I always wanted it. Not because I was much of a hedonist - hell, I never knew much about comforts - but I thought having it would make me a free, unshackled man. And for a time, I had it fairly good. I got off-world, and nobody was any wiser about what I was and where I was from. They just saw a young and willing man out to make a credit."

Raising her eyebrows in surprise, the huntress could not hide her amazement at how similar their backgrounds were, a fact that she felt like sharing immediately. "I... I too felt like escaping from the confines of my society. To become an adventurer. Above everything, I loved the freedom, coming from a military background. And I saw myself as a protector of the galaxy. Yes, I took money for it. But it was just, and it was adventure... The early days were nice." She lowered her head ever so slightly, as her mood visibly dropped. "Come to think of it, it took me only six years to become a mercenary instead of a lawkeeper... Without NexNip, I lack guidance. He was - is - a lot more than a hunting buddy..."

"I figured. The two of you seem fairly close, which, again, makes me wonder why you'd go," Kass pointed out. He stopped by a store window, looking back to the bounty hunter. "You're battle-forged friends, and he's gonna need someone who knows him and who he knows will watch his back no matter what," he told her seriously. "Besides, I think it's not a one-way thing, this guidance you're talking about. I think he needs you. Yes, he's got his dad now, but they've been separated for a long time. I think, if anyone, you'd be something stable for him. You're a team, the two of you, more so than any of the rest of us."

"This again..?", Zuri sighed, her mood hitting lower points again. She looked away, watching Ithorians and other people pass by them as they walked. The huntress nervously scratched her elbows while looking for a way to reply. "NexNip and my bond with him is why I'm still here, with you, Kass", she eventually conceded, "But my feelings have not changed yet. The little- no, NexNip, needs to stand on his own, just like I do... I'd just be in his way, and in your way." The Chiss shrugged, attempting to show indifference but being visibly saddened by the thought. "This... mission... is beyond my scope. It's best that I leave now, before I hurt someone... metaphorically. Or literally."
