Having properly given himself enough time to collect his thoughts. Realizing his father and his own situation at hand regarding being able to see home again, he convinced himself that staying away for the time being would be the best course of action. For as long as they stay away from home, those back home would be safe from the Sith's wrath. Darth Onii was relying on them to lead him to where his Mother was. He'd make sure their Kel Dorian foe never gets the chance to get to her. Even if it meant he'd never return home himself. He'd rather never be able to see his family, his friends, or his mate back on Kushibah then put them in danger by being with them. But that thought didn't matter in the long run, because the threat of Darth Onii will be brought to an end. One way or another. "So, Dad..." he said keeping his spirits up, trying to return to that happy mood he had previously, "Mom's a Jedi, huh? What did she tell you about them? Why did you not want me to know."
"You are a group of fools." The old man stated as a matter of fact. "Here I am, revealing the greater motive, and all you return to is your personal care? That is pathetic at best." He in fact jumped on the table, walking it up and down. NexNip knew what was going to come, one of his famous 'you are totally wrong' lectures. "First of all. Onii is a Sith title given to the daemon. (OOC: In case everyone was lazy. Oni is Japanese for 'Daemon' like... Literally). He is a horrible horrible horrible man, selfish, greedy for power like all their lot. He killed a dozen Jedi at least. And oh because we Kushiban have nothing to offer, what might he want to do to us? The one thing every Sith is after once their road to power got halted. Vengeance. Ice-cold, bloody vengeance. He may know it was a Kushiban who stopped him. Does he know where that Kushiban is? No. And he would be stupid to get this close to you lot that you can feel him. So instead he just waits until Nexi and I here return home to our dear favorite woman in our lives just to get her, us and everyone else near and dear gets killed. But oh no, your personal matters come first, right?" "You Mandalorian. Nobody cares about what your people could or will be capable of doing, fact is you are a bunch of Warmongers, which was attempted to be stopped by Duchess Sateine that the Mandalorians gladly betrayed by joining with Darth Maul before he mysteriously disappeared few days later. Peace is no option for your lot. So of course you feel just too glad to hear about this Onii and what delightful challenge it would be to kill a true Sith Lord." "You there, bounty hunter and 'acquisition'. Rambling about Jedi and Sith when you barely understand even the force itself or it's ways. Your purpose here is nothing but to learn and yet you discard it by holding onto your own thoughts, your own agendas and beliefs. By all means you should just go and deliver your bounty or set him free. But not do this weird limbo thing. Clearly you could simply turn him over the local authorities but you haven't yet for whatever reason. Either get rid of him, or free him. But don't drag him along as your prisoner. And if he is not, then start respecting him as a person. You are a no good, Chiss, because you don't even know what you want from life. Simply bounty hunting because you don't know better. Do us a favor and let my son be with your insanity of enjoying to hunt others, that is the opposite of being a Jedi after all." "Then that protocol droid, I don't even know what he wants, but even he is bloodthirsty. Whatever happened out of protecting others, finding peaceful solutions, overcoming the darkness by doing good. No instead you just want to kill everyone standing in your path, that's one good translation, mh? The fact that fear works for all races in the same way?" "At least the Wroonian knows when to stay quiet and listen, take an example from him!" He points at Kai with his walking staff. "Last but not least. You. Cyrus. As Nexi's master should you not explain the Jedi code? The importance of selflessness, gratitude and the working of fate? And not actually encourage murder? The fact that he should care about his mother, and I in a positive, protective way, not one of despair? It appears someone forgot how Darth Vader came to be, the oh so great Jedi who turned to the dark side because he believed too weak to protect his love. For the force's sake, get your job straight... Or at least hope that another, proper master takes you up Nexi. Perhaps Skywalker himself. And with that I leave you lot to your beloved dinner, since I am not going to surround myself by bloodthirsty warmongers that seek out to murder a Sith just because he is one. To show him the light, or at least attempt to, that is the right way. Else, he will just come back to haunt your descendants or come for you when you are withered and old. The dark side may be destructive, but it knows how to keep it's agents alive." He took a piece of complimentary bread and a cube of butter and marched out in the lobby, given he doesn't know which room he is supposed to sleep in. Probably he would wait until the group was done with food and beverages.
"I see where Nex gets his 'making judgements and chewing you out for snippets of conversation without asking any questions'-genes from," said Rondo. "Real nice."
Green Jewel - Restaurant/Lounge - Na'tala & Kotep Na'tala jerked upright, snapped out of eating her meal, when Minlan started ranting. The Twi'lek was worried by the direction of the elderly male's speech, having tuned out the others and what they were saying, and was glancing around in confusion. Spoiler Yay for being ignored! --- @Uriel1339 or @GobMaw_HellSmasha | How dare the damned rabbit accuse him of being Death Watch! Stiffly returning to his place at the table Kotep snatched up his mug, draining it in a single go, before storming from the lounge.
"I..." Zuri was without words; the old mammal's words had stung like little else. She had often been insulted, but never in a way such as this. And the worst part was that beyond it hitting too close to home, she didn't even know why. "You old bastard", she then decided to switch to, standing up at the table. "Fine. You want your greater picture? Go chase after these Sith fable monster. But search yourself a new damned fool. Because this goes beyond what I was hired for. I'll tell Katarn his next one is on the house, but this? I have better things to do that let myself get..." The Chiss did not finish, instead just walking for the door. No, she did not really know whether she could really leave, but for right now, she could not bear being with this self-righeous religious rear-kisser, either. She was just too angry. Anger gave way to very dangerous, worse emotions. And being in control was too important to her. She walked out, to the street, hoping that the clear air of Ithor would help her settle down from the verge of an outbreak of angry, insulted, helpless tears.
Cyrus just kind of sat dumbstruck in his chair. That very well could have been the worst tongue lashing of his entire life. Actually that wasn't quite entirely true, he thought back just a few years to a training simulation where Cyrus had elected to continue on when it appeared the others were dead. Skywalker had really given it to him then...but in more of a "This was a big mistake, learn from it." way. The Kushiban's berating just seemed unproductive and ill-spirited to him. He just looked at Nexnip and shrugged. "Where do I even start? I mean he has a point about EG but it is a kriffing jedi hunter droid. Still though....yikes. Make a jedi out of you in four days? Jumping the blaster a bit on that one, I think."
Rondo Kass got up shortly after, having already said his piece on what he thought of the old Kushiban's opinion, and looked after the departing bounty hunter. "Hold the fort, Cyrus," he said softly, and left the room. @Casavay She stood out on Ithor. Then again, being a Chiss, she usually stood out anywhere, just like him. "Hey," he said, announcing his presence so that the hunter could at least compose herself before he reached her. After all, she seemed quite upset when she left, and with good reason. Kass' philosphy said that people could say whatever they wanted about you, so long as you knew in your heart who you were - a philosophy the two bounty hunters had put to the test, what with their talk of 'acquisitions'. That wasn't so important right now, though. The old furball could say whatever he wanted, but Kass couldn't say he approved much. He gave her the chance to avoid him - he walked slowly. She could easily run away from him, tell him to go, just about anything. He hoped she wouldn't, though. "How're you holding up?"
@Kalle Spoiler I swear I try to be somewhat consistent about tags, but for some reason I forget them a lot. Had she not been so utterly disturbed and scattered at the moment, the huntress would easily have noticed her quarry approaching. But, in a moment of painful irony, her old drill sergeants and her own philosophy were once again proven right: not controlling ones emotion at all times made one susceptible for deadly mistakes. By the time she'd noticed the pale man approached her, he had already been close and Zuri felt his impending mockery was nothing but an appropriate punishment for her emotionality. She did not move, but did not turn to face him either, not wanting to give him more ammunition by showing him how she was obviously struggling with herself, biting her lip and being impotent to cease the twitching of her eyelids. A fine example of a bounty hunter she was, conceding defeat to an acquisition already captured, and with more than one opportunity to safely deliver him, no less. She should've left him with Bossk, at least that one would have done with the acquisition what she should've in the first place, not letting herself get distracted by this stupid 'mission'. A fine joke, this mission was. Just like herself. Kass had greeted her, and she wanted to intimidate him into shutting his mouth, but the train of thought made her whimper, barely audibly, but still quite apparent. But while she expected him to verbally shred her, rip into an open wound, he did not, or at least, abstained for a moment, asking her, "How are you holding up?" in a manner the Chiss would not have expected in the least. Not from him, not in this situation. And she didn't know what to say. Her immediate reaction was to hiss "Guess!" hostilely. Zuri ground her teeth and shook her head. But then, she reconsidered, attempting to go out with a bit of grace left. "It's over, you can leave, I'm not doing this anymore, so please spare me whatever insult you have thought up on the way here. I'm not a good talker, I know, you win. Just leave me with my impotent thoughts."
@Casavay "I don't wanna do that, Zuri," said Kass, keeping his voice low so as not to attract too much attention to themselves, out in the street. Of course, they were two off-worlders with brightly colored skins, they were bound to draw some attention, but he didn't want too much of it. "I don't wanna leave, and I didn't come out here to rub it in, either," he said, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he closed the rest of the distance between them, coming up to stand beside her. He glanced sidelong at her, to her face, even though he knew she'd probably try to hide it. He wanted to try, at any rate. "And, frankly, I didn't come here to pity you either. That old pillow stuffing has enough bile in him to melt through a durasteel beam, and you don't owe him any respect for what he said to you. You don't have to put up with that. Just because he's old, doesn't mean he's right."
@Kalle Too dedicated to her defeat, or maybe too busy staring at the ground to notice, she did not move her face away. But for some reason, despite growing up on the ice world of Rhigar, she felt cold, moving up her arms on front of her chest and grasping at her elbows in a futile effort to provide warmth. Zuri visibly shivered. But moreso, she was stunned by the rogue's words. While most of her conscious mind was certain this was some part of an elaborate trick, it did not sound fabricated. Of course, he of all people could probably manage to fake sympathy. "I don't think he's right", she lied, not moving save for her muscles spasming in a losing battle against the imaginary frost. "I just won't stand for this insult. I am doing the Republic a favour, and these people have... overstretched their boundaries. I'm leaving. I'm done. And I told you, you can go. I release you. I don't think that idealist Kushiban will try to cash in on your bounty." She assumed she'd misspoke or something got lost in translation from Cheunh to Basic, since he had refused her offer to leave, but she had no other way of putting it in her occupied mind. But by this point, her mind was not exactly functioning right, either, overtaken by the many little mind-killers they had warned her about.
