I always saw the dark side as the shortcut to power, not the path to greater power necessarily. The utilization and weaponization of powerful and negative emotions like despair, anger and hate. Utilizing the force as a weapon for oneself instead of a sheild for others.

Having recently seen EP3 you are wrong. Yoda knew the moment the Jedi were killed. He was on Kashyyk and felt all the pain, when Order 66 was issued.

Frankly, the Force Stealth was almost unnecessary. The Jedi had "bad feelings", but were paralyzed.

Gob, consider this: The point of the Rule of Two was to consolidate the Dark Side into two individuals. It's no stronger than the Light, as forces, but the two Sith Lords were endowed with the brunt of the Dark Side.
