Can you check all three bolters and post the results here? Would be great to know and I'm afk all weekend so can't check myself
I don't think I've played in 2 months. This is clearly a problem for someone who 1) has time/internet to play the game 2) still cares enough about online pvp to see if binding the fire button to your mousewheel will increase your RoF. I don't think I've been that competitive since CoD:MW2.
Lol, took I hiatus myself, pacing myself because I intend to place this for years to come, no point trying to burn myself out (Penguin has an amazing degree of....never mind, point is I congratulate him on constantly playing it). Like most weapons in the game I treat them as if they are supposed to fulfill a certain role, Lascannon is an excellent long range anti-armour weapon, bolter provide reliable close to mid range damage while being capable of suppressing at longer ranges or when hip fired, plasma gun and cannon provide high damage and area control, similar to heavy bolter, however it is more area control and close fire support. The stalker bolter, for me at least, works most effectively in mid to long range suppression/harassment, keep Billy away from Bob who is driving your little vindi and in close range it is more akin to plasma gun, but requires you to be a bit more precise, essentially a scalpel compared to a sword, limited but it can still hurt. Different tools, different jobs.
To clarify - I'm not super competitive, this was just very interesting. I can test it when I get home. If nothing else I'd say that if the rof is not capped in semi auto, devs need to look at it because it WILL be abused. If I can vomit out like half a bolter magazine in a second, we have a problem. Of course different weapons fill different roles.
There are people using macros (or modified controllers) to get an insane rof with semi-auto, while maintaining good accuracy in other games. Maybe it's usable here too..that would be sad. Would be interesting to see, to what conclusion you come after testing.
