Initializing...ready++ If I had 1 RTC for every squad lead that didn't mark points or responded to multiple requests to do so in chat (and then complain at the end of the match how the team was horrible)....I could buy BE and fund development for Eternal Crusade 2. If you're a squad lead...mark the point. It's free/extra xp that everyone can take advantage of, plus it gives the squad a focus point to fight together on. And it probably goes without saying, but for Holy Terra stick with your squad. Had a guy run off on his own to attack B (and die in the process) while his entire squad was at A defending it from constant attack. I get there is a tsunami of F2P players and people generally don't have a clue...but at the very least read the f'in chat. This is a team game, not super soldier emperor's golden sun child of infinite rambo memes. Ok. Rant mode off. ++Rant mode...disabled. Unfortunately @Halcyon, you're preaching to the choir here. Most players here know this already, and most players who don't won't find their way here. Emperor/Gork/Mork/Whatever knows many posts/guides have been made here and even on the Steam forums, with no impact on behaviour.
I still don't understand why the game picks a level 1 as sq leader at the beginning, or why people tend to join and stay with the poor fellow.. Besides that, Being a sq leader is equal frustrating since you are lucky if 50% og your squad follows your orders.
Don't tell me, as a sl, I wasted 5 mins begging my team to redeploy at the trukk, only to be answered in chat "may be you should defend A, you know, the only point we managed to cap since the beginning of the match"... In the end a couple of guys out of a 6men team followed my request. Yay.
On top of that issue squad markers seems to be buggy and can vanish just few seconds after objective was marked. SL might easy miss fact that mark is gone for no reason.
Steam coordination has and always be hard to do with a bunch of randoms, try playing as a platoon commander in planetside with 50 others that randomly join, tatical nightmare. At least if you try to tell them in my case most of them listen
If you are playing on the European server, half your team probably do not even use English as their first language. Also don't blame non English speakers for that. They have just as much right to play the game as anybody. It's not their fault we are all forced to use one server. I add that because of the abuse I have been seeing in games recently given to people not using English in the chat and being told to stop playing.
As I wrote in another thread there is a big problem: still many players do not understand victory conditions when they play supremacy scenarios.
There is also a bug, when SL marks a point, and you join that Squad, it isn't marked for you. I was Squadlead with 5 guys, marked A on Maggon and as we had the surviving rhino, my squad got bigger. With 7 people, someone asked me to Mark A (allready was) so i did again. Then the Squad maxed out, and another one joined in. He also asked, so i asked him in return if it isn't allready. He said no. I marked it, and he saw it then. So, Mark the Point more then just once Squadleader!
