I apologize if this has been answered, but if it has, I have not been able to find it. As 2 of the 4 chapters in the game so far don't follow the standard marking scheme, have the devs said anything about following the codex in this regard? Examples being yellow/blue/red helmets or knee pad markings in the blood angels (because that's what I am familiar with).
The devs are W40K fans themselves, and they already mentioned that they want each faction and sub-faction to have the "original" look each one has in the lore, so I'm sure they'll take these things into account... otherwise... We're watching you devs...
Fair enough, just had to ask. For some reason, very few things bother me as much as seeing Sons of Sanguinius on the table with those damn arrows on their shoulders.
Not all...while you aim that thing, take a look behind you...to the wolf guard terminators that just teleported in...sneaky tactic, we've learned that one from the pesky Dark Angels...
Was it the same feeling I had when I saw the white trim on this 5th Co. Sgt's pauldrons ?? Lol I think it'll be fine. These guys have some good personal experience and direct artwork/lore assistance from GW.
That't the feeling alright. No idea why it bothers me, but it unlocks the nerd-rage. Their experience and energy for the source material is the only reason I am as hopeful as I am about this game. Hell, in the newsletter one of them showed off their Astorath model, and it put anything I have done to shame lol. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
I think if they do it right it may be the first time in a video game it is done perfectly. In SM the Tactical symbol were ultramarine/codex markings specifically AND they were always black which for the Ultras is a single company. In DoW they were also always black and only arrows were visible in the 1st in SP (although you could customize in the army painter for skirmish mode)
