  1. This has been an ongoing community wide discussion for quite some time. Last year in fact questions were posed concerning K/D and all the selfish types of lone wolf game play tracking this stat causes and if I recall correctly we were assured K/D would NOT be a thing in EC. We have been assured that experience would be spread to better reward and encourage squad based support actions and that these type actions would take priority on the scoreboard. We are still waiting to see that happen.

    We've taken some baby steps from where we've started, but it's pretty disheartening to see a brand new scoreboard introduced and we still have no squad support actions up on that board.

    Right now EXP is all about the kills and all about zerging and capturing objectives. Defending objectives, reviving team mates, healing, working as a squad, taking care of your squad, placing mobile spawns, repairing mobile spawns, protecting mobile spawns, repairing tanks, savior kills, savior actions, these all give minimal rewards. This is the exact opposite of what I'd expect to see in a "Squad Based Game".

    The fact that zerging, killing and capping objectives with the zerg is where a vast majority of the EXP in game is earned is made perfectly clear when you look at overall defender exp(lack there of) on Harkus.


    I left out the "Repairs" column, which should most definitely be included and should most definitely be worth much more experience.

  3. I support @Njord-Halfhand 's point and his approach towards solving this. Also I think that especially defending points should be rewarded in some way, since for now, the children of Call of Duty prefer to do the roller-coster around the map not caring for holding any ground, since only capturing gives points.

    everything should be worth the same XP as a kill or more,

    IMO to promote "team-play" vs "team death match" kills should have the lowest XP reward in the game or at least the equal lowest

    this would promote healing, revives, resupplies, spotting, etc etc etc

    support NORJ!!!! The kills death isnt good and is just show off maybe we can see ur own at the end of the match ? but yes heals revives should be there Executions also wont be bad will they ?

  6. I like the concept of just seeing our own kills(not seeing everyone else's) at the end of each match. Executions were left up there.

    Ultimately is there even a need for a scoreboard in game?

    I feel like with the game in its current format it's fine to have one but I wouldn't mind there not being one if I could check my overall stats somewhere online.

    Destroying vehicles and playing objectives gives you tons of XP, in fact it's not uncommon to see people at the top of the leaderboards with a 4-5 or worse K/D. I just played a game where I rode around in a Rhino, spawning troops, running down guys, had one guy who hung out and was my gunner almost the entire time, while I repaired and kept the same Rhino alive the entire match. We were both near the top on the scoreboard, with me even though most of my points were repair, gunner assist kills, reviving people and rundowns.

    I've been at the top of the board with a 2-4 K/D where I just played the objectives the entire time, and been on top with a 43-2 K/D where I've just killed. I've been on the top of the boards on Fortress where I started off in a Vindicator to take down walls, switched to Rhino to move a spawn point inside, then went around and melee'd down all the Quad guns inside and then finally flanked and finished up with a decent K/D of 11-3. I've been near the top of the boards mostly playing a Sorc and healing guys and reviving them, while scoring a few kills of my own. I've been on top as Melee Assault and Tactical, and I've been on top as ranged using Plasma Cannons, Bolters, Melta bombs and Melta guns Tacticals or Multi-Melta Havoc hunting vehicles, sniping with a Stalker Bolter, etc. etc. etc.

    Honestly this has some of the best, most balanced, and most diverse scoring I've seen in a long time, and it seems to me that no matter what you do, if you do it well you can score well (and by score I mean get XP, which is how the board ranking is sorted). I'm not sure what your issue is, because if you feel that repairing, healing, etc. is not allowing you to score as highly as you would like, then perhaps you just need to do a better job of it?

    I don't see how K/D in any way effects things, as often the highest K/D players are not even in the top 10-15 in scoring, so I'm not sure what removing it would change. People want to see how they did scoring wise using various tactics and weapons, and by seeing how I fared it gives me clear clues as to how I'm performing, and it usually runs in line with how I feel that I actually contributed that match. All removing it would serve is to patronize players who just simply aren't very good because they don't have to be reminded of it at the end of the match. Sorry, it's competitive multiplayer ultimately, and in life not everyone gets a participation ribbon.

    Though I DO think the one thing they need to do scoring wise is take away points for TK's.

    Something like that would be fine, but I definitely feel that if TK's took away points people would be forced to do the math as to if throwing that grenade or plasma cannon shot in there is worth it, either tactically or XP wise. They also coincide, which is great, if you see two of your guys vs. one of theirs, you're going to lose more points than you gain, if you see 1 of yours and 4 of theirs? Bombs away, because it's probably an effective play tactically as well.

    They should also take away at least a 1/2 kill, if not a full kill from your final K/D ratio.
