Sprinting with controllers

I had a thread about this on the founders servers before the changes to sprint and crouch hit live, but now that they are live it'd be a nice chance to get a broader opinion.

Before the patch B was sprint and it ran continuously forward, the camera turning to have you run forward in a different direction. Now with the left stick click sprint the character only moves in three straight directions (diagonal left, forward, and diagonal right). The issue I find is that this new system is too rigid for a control stick capable of 360 degrees of motion. Has anyone else had issues with the stiffness of the running? Or the snapping back and forth between forward and diagonal?

Had no problems with the sprint. I'm using a duel shock 4 and I use both left and right stick when sprinting.

I've been using a wireless 360 controller. You haven't noticed the left stick only having sprint in three straight directions (the aforementioned forward and diagonals) with no gradation between them? If so then maybe it's a bug specific to 360 controllers? Odd...

I only really playing PvE due to my low system specs (It's a laptop, I'm thankful to even get PvE) and I initially found the left stick to be over sensitive with the sprint, following the patch, but got used to it quick.

The stiffness might be a 360 controller bug, the XB1 and PS4 controllers feel a lot more sensitive and don't have so big a deadzone before the sticks register.

Hm...part of me want's to say pve isn't the ideal testing place for such a thing due to the tight corridors but I can't deny the fact that it could just be my outdated controller. I'll see if a friend will lend me his xbone controller for further testing.
