so this spotting system, it's not a 3D system like battlefield is it? Now, it really can't be since there aren't people flying around...but basically, what i'm asking, is the diamond / symbol that shows up over the spotted enemies head, will that be visible by the entire team regardless of where they are on the map, will it be a more localized visual for friendlies within a certain radius of the spotted enemy, or will the symbol not show up at all on screen, and only the location appear on radar?
all mates in a certain range of the marked enemy will be able to see it thats confirmed in lore and it is comon sence
The spotting and minimap isn't final yet. I'm not sure but currently the spot marker over an enemy seems to be a line of sight thing, as in players only see the marker if they can see the enemy the marker is marking. NicolasBrunoni (Lead UI/UX Designer) talks about load out items having influence for minimap stuff here.
You can view the latest iteration of spotting in last week's twitch episode where Brent briefly shows it off.
I never liked the spot system (Bf3, PS2), sometimes it's too op and breaks the imersion but I guess EC it's the only game that makes sense the use of it
Looks like the lights on a christmas-tree, small specks of light in a field of darkness... To be honest, though, I liked the BF spotting system. I remember sitting in a MAV in BF3, lighting the way up for 2 friends on TS. Both verbal communication and in-game spotting made sure those guys were safe, and could kill pretty much anyone. Though, as stated, it breaks the immersion. I agree. In EC? A rune on the minimap, definitely. An icon on the HUD? Don't see why not!
