So you've never been shot out of the air playing a JPA, or wing clipped by melee? If you've played even a single day as JPA, you'd know both happen frequently.
You realize you can't just be able to use snares on Eldar right ? You'd get them against every faction and they'd get them on you. I'd assume Eldar would get them as well. I don't think anyone really wants CC's ruling the battle field.
Right now speed is ruling the battlefield, or are you not playing EC and reading Steam Feedback? Out of curiosity, what's the counter to speed in any other game you've played that has melee combat? So you're saying a speed advantage is fine, but having a viable mechanic to counter that speed advantage is game breaking?
I don't think snares are the answer, wrong kind of MMO and being stuck is frankly awful in the right kind.
I already gave you plenty of examples. Roots, snares, stuns. But once again do you really want to see people lobbing grav grenades into a room locking everyone down and then lobbing a plasma ball into the room and wiping everyone out ? If you have snares, roots, stuns then you also have to have counters to those. So now you have to have some kind of mechanic to free you from snares or make you immune to snares. Do you really want all of that or is this just another attempt to get Eldar nerfed and get their speed reduced to the same as all the other factions. Let's be honest here. Your intent is simply to see Eldar further nerfed.
I don't notice the run speed difference too much in melee, and I play melee quite a bit. True, they do have a better chance of escaping melee when compared to the other factions, but it's still likely that they will die. I don't think adding more snares is the answer. What I am concerned about is the fact that Eldar seem to have quicker animations in melee. DJ was able to pull of two fast attacks as a banshee after a bash whereas orks and marines seem to be lucky to get one off--even if they are dedicated melee classes. It is possible to stop a dive from a JPA or Stormboy by shooting them. They'll basically fall at your feet. However, it's a bit hard to pull off, and I rarely have it happen to me when I play JPA/Stormboy. If you're referring to the evade attack, then you're correct. No way to really stop that, but it's meant to close small distances.
