I have to agree here, while it might not be 100% fluff and lore relevant. it works perfectly fine in a gameplay perspective (if done correctly, PS2 as mentioned)
Go play Planetside 2 for a couple hours and only spawn on squad leader beacons or at bases, I reckon you'll very quickly agree that the sunderer (and rhino) spawn-points are necessary.
It's the exact same thing... you are not against mobile spawn points, you are just against rhinos being used as mobile spawn points? kind of dumb if you ask me...
But the sunderers are probably the best thing to take from PS2? I also don't see much of a difference between a buildable beacon and a rhino spawn point except for the fact you need to drive a rhino there instead of building it. Don't make me laugh, the game is going to be full of 'yolo rambos' regardless of which spawn system is used. Certain spawn mechanics do not inherently make teams more organised or reduce the amount of 'rambos' that will play the game. Increasing the time it takes to get back into the battle only slows gameplay down as players don't want to spend another 5 minutes getting back into the fight, especially if the enemy has snipers.

I hate using this but EC is a game, you have to accept that it isn't always going to be realistic/lore perfect etc. Why add an entirely unique object to the game and try and balance it when you can add the features of what it does to an already existing unit? All that is going to happen is a squad is gonna disembark from their rhino and build a beacon next to it. It isn't going to add anything to the game other than a bit of finicky construction before you get on with the assault. EDIT: Lol, nice find Joram
While it may be possible to build 100s of rhinos, I don't see it happening. All the vehicles are going to cost points to spawn, unlike in the live stream where the devs have excessive amounts. This allows them to show us more of the gameplay without watching them run 5mins from the other base. With the rhinos costing to spawn (and possible cool-down) to build it'll become apparent very quickly that driving the rhino to the bottom of the enemies wall just isn't going to work. They'll be destroyed and there won't be another available immediately. This will cause the rhinos to become the small camps slightly off the front lines. The way I see it, if rhinos were just transports then the battlefield is just going to end up littered with abandoned rhinos as people drive from the spawn and desert them to fight
Nobody said that every rhino should be a spawn point or that mobile spawn points should have the same cost as regular rhinos.
