    @the captain
    Id, hope that guild cruisers could do "Chapter v Chapter" or "Faction v Faction" but as a point of feeding the Competitive players out there, as for any and all "extra" loot id hope that there isn't any, only reason is there are those people out there that will abuse an feed each other so they can get gear for nothing.

    @Kor'El Es'Tau Ar'Kais
    I would love to see Vehicles on the battle field, all manner of light, fast, heavy, super heavy, Aircraft, drop pods, Every thing cause with out them the 40K universe is only half what it could be.

    As for Air to Air, and Air to ground, there is a lot that cant be mucked with when it comes to Air power, and even more so if a Chapter of player space marines have bought/earned a Cruiser I see no reason they cant also then have a HQ/Elite item that lets them call in Close air support like Thunder hawk bombing runs or orbital bombardments.

    Sure people that play a lot of other FPS games know the power in this, but once the maps open up and The battle space allows for Land Raiders and such, what is the harm in allowing some thing like a artillery off map for space marines when factions like Tau and Imperial Guard are going to have On map Arty, if EC dose not have Skyray missile, and IG have there Wyverns, Basilisk & Manticore, then there is a lot missing that could give them an edge to fight back against all the awesome that is Space marines, Eldar or Ork.

    I want the game to be fun, when it comes to things from the small scale of Grots riding missiles into enemy tanks, all the way up to Cruisers, every thing that can make the game feel more 40k IMO should be apart of the Eternal Crusade game. If factions are not able to PvP then that's not to big of a loss but having the cruisers as a base of operation would almost be a given, as well as a GREAT place to hang IN-Game, Duel, perfect builds in battle arenas of 3v3-5v5, as well as a staging post for all PvE campaigns.

    I would like ship to ship battles. But more like a boarding action battle, with the ship of both sides taking damage and the players boarding the enemy ship to favour* his side on the battle. It could be just special events, i don't care, but it could be cool... In my humble opinion of course ;)

    Looking at the table-top setting, fliers were hell to deal with, if you didn't have stuff specifically to take them out. Though in EC it would probably be enough with a couple lascannons, as targetting might actually be a hell-of-a lot easier than in table-top (where you had to roll a 6 to hit a flier, except when it's hovering).

    Other than that, SWTOR had orbital bombardments, COD have their killstreak-airstrikes and whatnots, MechWarrior Online have their airstrikes/artillery... It's not that big of an issue, they work quite well.

    By the way, Space Marines do have on-map artillery: the Whirlwind. And I see no reason why any on-map artillery COULDN'T be implemented, as Battlefield 3 allowed heavy gunners to take out mortars, and you sat there with a top-down view of the map, and picked where you wanted to fire, and World of Tanks had their own top-down-viewing artillery -vehicles.

    And to address the thread as a whole again... I was in a guild in SWTOR, where we had our guild flagship quite decked out! We had weekly meetings there, various random roleplaying, duel-training, briefings/debriefings for various combat-operations.... Hell, depending on what all one can do with guild cruisers in this game (I really hope one is allowed to customize them to some extent), it would be an awesome addition for those who want to RP in this game (disclaimer: I have NO idea how much you can interact with other people, if there are even emotes, or ANYTHING of the like. No idea if this is more of a shooter than a "traditional MMO", so to speak, but we'll have to wait and see), if it's possible. Other than that, it would be awesome to have a place called "home" in a game, where one could just chill with one's battlebrothers, set up one's loadouts in complete peace etc. etc. etc... In Planetside 2, the place for this was the warpgate, the starting point for whichever side you were playing on, on a continent. A place of peace and quiet, to test things out, so to speak.

    Quick question here: the space ships are for guilds, right? I remember reading somewhere that the players were getting their own ships, and thinking "that can't be right, they probably meant 'guilds' instead of 'players', right?"

    Wasn't the focus of my question. Let me boldface it:

  8. I think that the idea so far is: the more people in your guild, the bigger your cruiser will be.

    Individual players not in guilds might get something like a dropship-sized vessel to customize and use.

    The initial idea was that size of the ship would depend on the group size that owns it.... for exemple: One player have a vey small ship, a squadron has a bigger one, a strike force* have a Strike Cruiser, and so forth. But that subject never being touch again... I think

    Yeah, that strikes me as very weird that a single Marine/Ork/Aspect Warrior gets their own ship (unless that's meant to read "a guild with only one player in it", which is just a natural inevitability)
