?

Would you like boarding actions implemented in Eternal Crusade?

  1. PvP aboard opposing faction's space ship? Hell yeah!

Assuming space combat eventually is introduced... man I hope broadsides are in. I absolutely love broadsides.

Boarding action from ship to ship fights, brings new environments to fight in as well as new immersions.

All ships have their own designs, chaos will be scary and gory, space marine will be Gothic and clean, you know how they look like, it has strong potential but nobody has ever ventured for it, for example SWTOR first instance is actually on a ship, it could have been in a cave for all it mattered but they added hints of immersion to it, engine room, boarding of enemies, windows too look outside where you were, hangar deck, it is an experience with hints such as those which made it feel alive and really drags you into the feeling of where you are for my part.

    Boarding action ha wicked potential.

FYI in case: Same gene-pool so brother indeed, although we stand on different sides.

If I were a follower of Chaos I would have called him "Host Brother", however I am a loyalist, hence I refer to all the Wh40k players on this forum as Battle Brothers :).

Aside from the oh-so-glorious Spehs Mehreens, how would the boarding actions for the other factions look like?

CSM would probably use similar boarding ships like the SM, and simply taking something and ramming it into something else with maximum speed is so orky that I don't think I need to elaborate for the Orkz. (And you probably don't want me to go into further detail, anyway.)

Things are a bit different for the Eldar - I doubt they a suicidal enough to use conventional boarding ships, so all i could imagine would be some kind of sophisticated teleport mechanism, which could mess up for any number of reasons - particularly when boarding Chaos ships.

I would like ship combat to be an arena type of PVP, you start by boarding the enemies ship, you have to fight your way through certain areas destroying objectives to reach the end goal of taking the engine room or bridge to disable the ship. This of course can be switched up so you have a chance to defend your ship as well and knock the heretic/Xenos menace back into the void.

I like what you're saying here.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong adding different varieties and scenery for PvP matches. The more variety the better. I have heard over and over again, PvP is boring in XYZ game because there are only three maps, or it's a CC fest on the same map.

Have Urban combat, Ships, Roks, hulk, whatever perfume smelling love boat the Eldar ride around in, Space stations, etc. More is definitely better in this situation. Of course, leave us our delightful open world to maim each other on as well. I would never support this being a 'lobby' game (not that I see any indication of that) but putting in Arenas and 'static' pvp area's will attract more players and give the E-sport people a place to hang their hats.

I have not seen anything about E-sport thus far, but it seems to be a trend a lot of people are following, and it can be a money maker for the IP so I wold not be surprised to see that topic come up at some point.

As usual I am all for variety!

I agree with the above stated (Fireeye, Valkr & Whiskey).

Imo, all the factions should have their own "eyecandy" concerning boarding the ship of an opposing force.
The more diverse the better. Control certain keypoints/chokepoints or disable certain systems aborad an enemy ship and in the end those chains events would lead to a successful capture of the enemy vessel.

    Thoughts?

Well once captured you can get rewards and the vessel is reinstated from scratch once again though, otherwise it all sounds great.
